How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast could be a bit better, no window in the room which can lead to weird sleeps
The staff are really great, the guy that runs it is very cool. Facilities are pretty good as well, nothing fancy but everything works as required. Located on the main street around a few restaurants and bars.

Ok so this was only because of the time of year but we woke up to a bad issue with ants. I’m hate all bugs but not ants however they got into all my toiletries and clothes l. I had to wash all my toiletries BUT when I told the owner (which I was uncomfortable doing) he was so apologetic and moved our rooms straight away. He sent all our clothes to the dry cleaners for free and had them ready the same day for us. Honestly it was so humid so I understood and he was so nice about it.
So the owner was a absolute gem he was so lovely and friendly. The location was perfect 👍🏻 the air conditioning was great too. We had to check out early but our flight wasn’t till late at night and the owner was so nice at told us we were welcome to stay in the room for as long as we needed. The upstairs balcony was a nice place to chill and relax. It was very quite and everyone staying there was respectful of that. The inside middle common area was also very nice.

Not much of an atmosphere.
The owner was extremely friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and provide anything we needed. It was also very good value for money.

bit of a walk into the centre of town, not many good restaurants nearby.
warm shower, good Wi-Fi, nice breakfast… the staff were very helpful and kind. my partner ended up in hospital and they looked after me and went beyond what they needed to, to make sure I was ok and had what I needed.

wonderful friendly people running it. Juan Carlos was helpful and kind. great welcome on New Years Day even though I arrived early.

The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Changed our room when there was noise next door. Left out fruit for us when we had an early departure. This is a plain and simple hostel but priced accordingly.

The toilet seat was loose and the shower gives just a little stream of water.
The staff was very friendly it’s good value for money.

Not a big problem but the toilet seat was loose, so sometimes it slipped.
The staff was very friendly, we felt very welcome and the room was nice and clean. Also the street is nice with places to eat and drink.

Put in a room in the back corner of the accommodation- had no curtain or blind (though all others seemed to!), bathroom had a very bad smell from the drains and WiFi signal did not reach. Vibrations from local nightclubs until 5am meant sleep was impacted.
Good location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

The WiFi is very unreliable, but I think it is more a thing for Mendoza in general. Very little phone reception inside the rooms (thick walls). However, there is a living/hanging-out area :)
The owner and receptionist were very kind and welcoming. They helped me to find an AC adapter (please think of this when you go to Argentina!). They also helped me with other things. Very accommodating people.

Really Nice staff Clean room & bathroom, with hot water comfortable bed Furnished kitchen + nice terrasse a bit far from the center , but really easy to do only 15 min walk, and many other shop close by. breakfast included

People are really nice and available! The room was clean and we slept really really well and comfy there! 100% recommend it! There was even breakfast with a wife choice of fruits, marnelates and so on.

There are two dogs, and we’re not dog people, and they did bark a bit. It was a bit run down but not dirty.
This hostel was great value for money and the location was great. We used it as a stepping stone after being in shared dorms, and so it was really nice having a private room. The en-suite was basic but clean. The TV had Netflix which was a very nice touch.
