Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe property was absolutely noce and cost. The place is outside the centre. We arrived there after the sunset so it was hard to figure out where we were. In the morning everything was clear.
Very friendly owner, Erica - open and helpful. The place is quiet and let us learn how people at the end of the world live. Fast wifi ;)

JapanIt's a 20-25 minute walk into the centre of Ushuaia, though this wasn't really an issue for us. There are some lively dogs in the neighbourhood, so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs.
This was one of our favourite places that we stayed at in Argentina. It's not a conventional hostel – think of it more like a homestay, with a family who are very accustomed to having strangers who barely speak any Spanish share their kitchen and living room. The owner, Erica, is a lovely host: she was extremely accommodating, letting us check in early when we arrived on a morning flight, and was constantly offering to drive us around (at Uber rates!) if we needed it. Given how expensive everything else is in Ushuaia, this place is a real bargain.

Super friendly host. House well maintained in a quiet, residential area. Walking distance to pizza takeout and family restaurants. Not too many rooms so book it if you see it available.

United KingdomIt is worth noting that the property is about a half hour walk out of town - we didn’t mind because we like walking and the views are beautiful. Positive is that Erica will drive you into town if you need. So not really an issue but something to be aware of
We loved our stay here, Erica and Luis are so kind and helpful - we got an airport pick up, early morning bus stop off and they drove us to hike Laguna Esmerelda and then picked us up again at the end, for very reasonable price. Comfy rooms and nice views. Access to kitchen for cooking or storing food.

United KingdomNothing it was perfect.
The lady who owns the house is amazing. She dropped us into town and to the airport, she helped us with walks and things to do. She did our washing at a small cost. House is lovely and clean, bedroom was so warm and comfortable. Kitchen that we shared with other guests was clean and socialable. The family are lovely and the cat is so cute. Would highly recommend staying here. Our favourite stay out of 10 places we’ve stayed so far in Argentina.

CanadaIt is a little far from the centre of town, but we like to walk so that didn't bother us for the most part. This is a very small drawback.
Erica was amazing. She gave us lots of information and links for tours, landmarks and ideas for things to do. She was very welcoming and her home was extremely clean! Her family was kind and helpful as well. When we were pressed for time (early morning start or getting to/from the airport), Erica drove us for a small fee. Through my poor spanish and Erica's great translator app, we were able to communicate about many things.

FranceHonestly, I have no complaints. Even though Erica spoke practically no English, we communicated easily with a little bit of Translator and lots of smiles and hand signs and gestures. As well, her teenage son speaks excellent English, which helped a lot during the first 5 minutes. Only negative comment : Casa de Familia is a bit far from the port. (Estimated 40 minute walk - I took a taxi).
The owner, Erica is a real angel. When I requested a taxi, she offered to drive me to the centre of town , to meet my friends. She gave me her WhatsApp contact, so I could ask her to drive me back to the BnB after dinner, around midnight. And on the last day she drove me to the airport. All the above for an extremely moderate fee. I would gladly stay there again.

NetherlandsYou really live in the family house, you do need to be comfortable with that. The room however is very private.
Being a guest in the family house was very nice. Clean room and nice shared bathroom. Erica also offers transport services to all the highlights, which we used a few times.

GermanyIt is a nice house in which you live with the owner and her family. The owner is really nice and we liked to talk to her. She always told us about sights and gave us everything we needed. We could also cook there (the kitchen has everything you need). Our room had an amazing view over the sea and we loved to enjoy it while eating. Overall a really nice stay!

I stayed 5 nights with Erica and her family at her comfortable and warm house. Erica was very helpful, recommending me many things to do and also offering to drive me there for a small fee. The room was very cosy and the house in general was an inviting place to go back to after a long day hiking! 10/10 would definitely stay again!

Belgium- Expensive for what you get - Basic room located outside the center (taxi takes 5 mins and costs 300ARS, but beware sometimes you have to wait long because of the lack of taxis in the neighborhood. - The family doesn’t really give you a warm welcome, we had to pay the full amount immediately when we arrived, even though we arrived really late at night after a long flight. They charge for everything (airport pick-up, use of laundry machine) and gave no recommendations about local places or tours, which is something you expect from a homestay. They cannot speak English. - The shared bathroom is not very clean - The door of the room doesn’t lock well
- only place we could find available last minute
