How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very expensive for what it is, but that's El Chalten for you. Very strong smell of gas in the apartment, but that also seems to be common in Argentina
Very clean. Good selection of kitchen utensils though it would have been useful to have cooking oil & salt n pepper at least. Very friendly helpful staff who came and fixed the heating when I accidentally turned it off

Pot & pan old, no cover. Pillow too soft. Can get quite dusty. Toilet very small, won't be able to close the door but for solo traveller, it's ok.
White bed quilt seems like new, warm and comfy. Towel, shampoo and soap provided. Don't have to eat out daily as have fridge & stove. Ander speaks English, perfect for those who don't understand Spanish. He is very friendly and helpful, can easily reach out via WhatsApp. Good location, close to main street and bus terminal. Pretty quiet at night and early morning as compared to staying in hostel.

It had a bad smell (gas smell) all the time, and the last day the heating was not working, so the place was very cold.
It was near to the center of the town. The kitchen has all the apliances that we need. It would be better if it has some instructions about how to turn on the stove because there were only 3 matches and we ran out trying to turning on.

The communications with the staff has been difficult because they gave us different infos.
The property is nice, really close to the main road of El Chatlen. I recommend it if you are planning on staying a few days.

The WiFi did not work for us (at all), which caused a little trouble when looking at hiking routes and WhatsApp to bus companies etc. But free WiFi available at the square on the main road so not a big issue. Especially considering the area surrounding El Chalten.
The accomodation was in a good area, close to the main street and bus terminal. Was spacious in the bungalow, with a well equipped kitchen and a great shower. Great for the price paid!

We stayed in the trailer. It was a nice experience to see how we could live in little space. Bed was comfortable, shower was good and kitchen was functional. We got to make some food and get well rested.

Check in was at three and the room still wasn’t ready even though checkout is ten When we arrived at 9pm the door was unlocked and the key box was incredibly difficult to unlock due to expectable weather. The pilot light on the heater did not work so we had to wear three layers inside during 8c weather. The staff suggested WE TURN THE GAS STOVE ON to warm up. The problem didn’t get fixed until 1 am

The WiFi didn’t work. The radiator didn’t work. The owner asks charges for paying in cash. Was the first time and she spoke about a law that my Argentine friend didn’t confirm at all. Be careful when you want to pay. However no extra charges with credit card
The place was big, we were in one house and not a trailer. Bed comfortable, hot shower, good localisation.

Overpriced, very limited cooking facilities, not big enough for two adults and two children, very slow internet that turns out was town WiFi and not theirs, rip off on the exchange rate by insisting we pay the official rate, not the blue rate, communication before arrival was terrible.
Not much. OK location, easy check-in, clean.

Best find in El Chaltan, we stayed in the trailer and it was the cosiest little place we’ve ever had. The bed was incredible and the hot shower was amazing, to be able to see the snow fall on the lawn in the morning as we had a coffee was so nice. Wish we could have stayed here for the few nights we were in El Chalten.

Excellent facilities within the cabin. Very warm in there too! Ander couldn’t have been more helpful with all of our requests and recommendations. Thoroughly Exceeded our expectations! Lovely cabins.

The gaz installation isn't properly done so it smells really strong the gaz and it gets to your head. Moreover, we were freezing because the heater wasn't good enough to warm properly the place. So if you mind smelling a lot gaz, not the best place.
Easy to access at different hours thanks to the keys placed in a box with a code previously received. Location was ok. Equipment was too. Beds were ok.

kitchen could’ve been stocked a little more, and beds a little small
the trailer home was perfect- small but a very comfortable cheaper option. perfect for 2 or 3 people. Diego and Natalia helped us with everything, were flexible and let us keep bags in reception for the day after we checked out.
