Small room and bathroom, had to maneuver to get into shower box. Toilet leaked but they fixed it. Curtain did not completely block sunlight, and kept hearing pigeons from window. Breakfast was simple and dining area staff were not as attentive. Styrofoam cups for coffee and water. Gym equipment was dated and no cleaning wipes for mats. For the price I would expect newer furnishings and better breakfast, feels like an overpriced bed and breakfast. TV not smart, cable and not too many options in English.

Location was good, walkable to most areas of interest, beaches and shops. Attentive front desk and let us checkin before regular checkin time, very responsive when needed.

A negative experience checking in, as my debit card had been declined when they tried to take advance payment online for the first night. The payment (in full) went through on the same card when I arrived to check in, but I found the receptionist’s attitude to be patronising and unhelpful. The other receptionists we dealt with were better trained in customer service. The lifts are tiny, barely fitting 2 people, and go up and down at random. The room, although advertised as superior, was tiny. It was also noisy at night and early in the morning (loud neighbours, pigeons, workmen starting very early). The view out of the window is of a wall with an air conditioning unit. The light from the corridor seeped in through the edges of the door; worse, because the corridor light was on a motion sensor, it kept switching on and off like a nightclub. The beds were uncomfortable, using sheets that kept slipping off and exposing the mattress. Although the breakfast itself was good, we felt like we were inmates at a prison, queuing up to be served by a member of staff. If they had the proper facilities to serve hotel guests, this would have felt more welcoming. Instead, it felt like they wanted to restrict us from our choices. The pool and jacuzzi looked tired and felt grubby, with water condensation dripping from the ceiling. The changing rooms need to be separate for men and women, and the whole area (floor, mats etc) desperately needs a clean.

The breakfast was good. The room and bathroom were clean. The shower worked well, with hot water on demand. The location was pretty central.

Overall the staff were not hugely helpful. There is no bar but, to be fair, it does not advertise that is has one. It does advertise that it does laundry but does not, instead I was told to go to a laundrette across the road. There were stains and marks on the linen. The room was tired. Reception looks OK but the rest is dated. I was on the 5th floor and the corridor light (supposed to be on a movement sensor) did not go off and light shone through the door surrounds all night. I could mostly shut this out with pillows. There was no hot water one night. Overall not vfm at this price.

The parking is fun. You drive into their apparently small car park, but there is a car lift that then deposits your car safely elsewhere. The guy in the garage (who seems to work 24 hours per day!) was brilliant and deserves a tip. Always smiling and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The location is pretty good
