Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room itself could do with a deep clean, but the important stuff like bedding was clean.
Our host was really friendly and gave great recommendations. The room is comfortable and very spacious. Located in a beautiful small town, close to nature and some nice cafes and resteraunts close by. Highly recommend for people who want to stay within the peninsula and love marine life

GreeceI absolutely loved this place! El Refugio is a quiet, clean and cozy guest house some 200 metres away from the ocean. The inner yard boasts really curious wooden ethnic-themed decorations. The rooms are quite spacious and, apart from the essentials, have a heater, a fridge, and a microwave. If you wish to dine outside, places to eat and drink are a few steps away. As are whale watching tours. My special thank you goes to the owner who is friendly, speaks good English and, as a local, knows every single bit of Valdés. I am personally grateful to him and his wife for showing me parts of the peninsula that no tourist guides ever mentioned. Be sure to ask the owner about whale watching or places to see penguins or seals! If you travel to Patagonia, don't miss the town of Puerto Pirámides. It's a small lovely town on the edge of peninsula Valdés famous for its marine mammal sightings. And if you opt for staying at El Refugio Pirámides, you *will* have a very good time.

United KingdomRoberto was immensely generous with his time and helpful - he helped me arrange boat tours, lent me his bike and even drove me to the sea lion colony so I could see it myself (I didn’t have a car). Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

Very nice spacious apartments at a great location. We really loved our stay in el Refugio. The host really was amazing, he gave us a lot of great advice on what to do in the area and most importantly when my girlfriend forgot a phone in the apartment he did everything he could and a friend of his brought the phone to the airport, it was amazing!!!

We absolutely loved our time at this property! The owner was so friendly and helpful to us with our time there. We arrived on a holiday so there were no buses but he kindly asked a friend to pick us up for us. They were too, very kind and the next day took us a tour of the peninsula 😃 The place was clean and well kept. Breakfast was a selection of pastries and coffee and tea! Would 100 % recommend to anyone!

United KingdomAn amazing spot to stay in Puerto Piramides. Kako was an excellent host, helping to organise a successful last minute whale watching trip at the very end of the season, get fuel for our car during a nationwide system error at the gas stations and even showing us a skunk he had spotted close to his house. All of his advice and recommendations were fantastic and he is also full of interesting conversations and stories! The accomodation was wonderful. You won't get a spotless hotel, but the whole place is full of charm and character. We had a huge but cosy room that felt more like an entire apartment. The shared kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the breakfast was great if you like decadent pastries! The location is close to everything you need in Puerto Piramides - shops, restaurants, tour operators (whale watching etc.) and only a 10 minute drive to the start of the roads through the Valdes Peninsula NP. The accomodation was very reasonably priced compared to many of the options available in Puerto Piramides. I would consider it fantastic value for money, especially considering the location. I would definitely recommend El Refugio Piramides to anyone visiting the Valdes Peninsula. If quickly felt like home to us, in fact we loved it so much we stayed for two night longer than planned!
