Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceAbsolutely nothing. Simply put it is a great hotel.
One of the better hotel experiences of the last six weeks of travelling in Patagonia. The location is excellent with some very good restaurants on the same street. The chambermaid service was of the very highest quality. Their attention to detail in my suite added that indefinable extra touch rarely seen in hotels today. I didn’t eat in the hotel because my credit card seemed not to work there. It was strange because it was no where near maxed out (10%) and had worked everywhere except here during the past six weeks in Chile and Argentina.

I loved it. the location is perfect. the staff went above and beyond. everyone was so friendly and the breakfast was great. especially Camilla, Melanie and Jose were amazing. they helped us get our luggage back after Air France lost it. the facilities are great and everything looks clean and well taken care of. if you are looking for an all around great if slightly expensive experience look no further! the steak restaurant is also a great place to go. Tip- pay with visa or MasterCard, foreign card means no tax and both cards offer a very favorable tourist currency rate- pay in ARS on card and save money.

United KingdomWe had had a long day and arrived at the hotel around 9pm and the check in was shambolic, it took 30 mins to check in (and there were only 2 guests before us) due to at first only one person being on check in, eventually they found someone else. Unfortunately, not only were the first set of guests still there after we had been seen, the guests before us also seemed to have trouble checking in. There seemed to be plenty of staff around but limited ability to help guests. On arriving at our room, we weren't in the best of moods but over the next few days we did warm up to the hotel however we do have the following observations: We'd booked a room with a balcony, and thought we would enjoy some wine out of the deck, well you can do this, if you don't want to do it together, as there is only one chair. The bathroom was huge but not practical. Limited space to put washbags, the two shelves had items on them and were high up, and the hairdryer was in a box right up on the top shelf. Luckily we are tall so could reach it. In the shower/bathroom it is a wet room, with slates for the shower, but it is really uncomfortable on the feet, plus the water took forever to drain, still wet when we came back at later in the day. The turning off and on of lights is not straight forward, hence the information sheet explaining which buttons to press. Getting from one side of the hotel is not easy and as my husband had recently had knee surgery it isn't suitable for those who can't manage stairs. Yes there are elevators in the underground walkway, but one was out of action, so you have to able to do stairs otherwise you need to walk outside and go up the road to get to the other side. Finally, the room is not sound proofed and unfortunately during the night, if you are a light sleeper, you will hear traffic, sirens and refuse vehicles.
If I had been asked to write this review on the day we had checked in, then I would have given this hotel a very poor rating why? See the negative comments. Having got over the awful check in process the hotel grew on us. The hotel room itself was spotless, the cleaners did a great job. It was a good sized room, which a balcony (although see negative section), the bed was comfortable, and it had a kettle and coffee machine in the room. Good size wardrobe, and hidden safe. The bathroom was big and the shower options were good (although see negative section) and we were happy with toiletries and towels. We ate in the Duhau Argentinian restaurant and the food, service, ambiance was excellent. We ate in the Piano Nobile restaurant and the food was fine. It was in a great location with easy access to restaurants and coffee shops. The gardens were lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. We did have a lovely time in Buenos Aires

BoliviaThe only slight problem was the concierge couldn’t find a package that had arrived for us. But they found it after showing them the proof a staff member had signed for it.
The staff was amazing, from the guards at the door, front desk, breakfast attendants, bartenders, housekeeping, they all insured we had everything we needed. The hotel is also beautiful. We reserved the palace and our room was spectacular.

United StatesDidn't like QR code for services. I detest QR codes and don't like looking at my phone for this info. A written option would be preferable. Also, light switches were very complicated. Better labeling for what switch does what would be better.

United StatesLess about the hotel and more about Buenos Aires. Economy is in shambles make sure to bring plenty of USD. A lot of places only accept USD for payment (classes, shopping, covid test). Don't take money from ATMs my friend and I had three machines process withdrawals without returning cash so headache with dealing with bank back home. Instead know that you can get pesos from concierge and charge to room for a 10% fee, totally worth it! Also, concierge will always ask for cash pmt but always ask if you can charge to the room for a fee. We were low on cash so that helped significantly. One incident we did have was miss communication between concierge and the span, a different price was charged than what concierge had provided and also different from spa menu. Make sure to ask for price prior to appointment directly from spa.
Lovely historic hotel. Staff was wonderful front desk, housekeeping, concierge, and front door staff all went above and beyond. Appreciated being allowed to check in early given our 12+h travel day. Housekeeping came twice which was appreciated. Concierge was very helpful in helping us with reservations to tango show, tango classes, cooking class, and covid test. Overall great stay and would highly recommend. p.s. love the Recoleta neighborhood.

United StatesThe reception area of the hotel on the Posadas side is presently closed. This is understandable given the pandemic. As a result, however, guests residing on the the Posadas side are required to do a considerable amount of running back and forth as the restaurants, spa and reception are only open on the Avenue Alvear side of the hotel. As noted, this is understandable, and a minor price to pay given the excellent service of this hotel.
