Because I ended up paying with a debit card I was charged way over what I was supposed to be charged. From £42 for 2 nights (rate stated on booking) I paid an equivalent of £51 ($62). I think that's quite a big difference! The room was very hot and the top beds were not far off from the bottom beds so made it awkward when staying at the bottom bunk. No soap in toilets. Kitchen could be better equipped. People were also loud in the shared space until midnight and you could hear everything inside the room (room and windows were facing into the shared space).

The shared space is lovely and I met lots of nice people to cook with and spend an evening with. The receptionist was accommodating with my requests to pay once I get my money out etc.

Being moved rooms after 3 nights of a 4 night stay. And without any warning...the things that I left in my bed were just bagged up and sent down to reception. (not that big of a deal, I just found it an odd thing to happen)

The wifi was very spotty in my room on the top floor. The hostel is also not that social, a lot of the other people who were staying there lived there and the hostel didn't have any planned activities. But if you go in expecting a chill and comfortable place to stay then you'll be happy with Puerto Limon.

I had a great stay at Puerto Limon. The staff were wonderful and so friendly, there is a large kitchen for people to use, the space was very clean. The location is very close to Mercado San Telmo and within walking distance to many great restaurants and cafes.

Good place to rest your head in San Telmo for a good price. Staff were really nice, friendly, and helpful. Seemed to have a lot of remote workers staying here and like the kitchen was equipped well. Would return.

Stayed here for two nights and felt super comfortable - the rooms are spacious with A/C, the kitchen is big and decently equipped, wifi is decent and the common areas (including an outdoor terrace) are large. There is even a common use computer. Location is great - super close to the San Telmo market. Staff were really lovely and friendly. It is a quieter hostel, not necessarily a place to come for organized activities and making lots of friends, but it is a friendly space. Overall great value for money. Definitely recommend and would happily stay again.

It was dirty and old. The photos didn’t represent the actual property. All rooms surround a courtyard and people were out there until 1:30am and the patio lights were left on shining into my room all night. I had just arrived that evening so didn’t know where to find the light switch. Rooms were old, chipped walls, musty and dirty.

Too noisy, dirty and feeling unsafe because everything is open and anyone can enter any room of the hostel in reality. Aircondition not working on our room and it is too hot in the lobby and everywhere and the receptionists the 4 out of 5 were very rude, only one was very kind and helpful. They even blamed me that I didn’t pay them the money of my stay so please be careful and ask for a receipt next time because you may come through this problem. And don’t keep anything expensive in the kitchen, someone will eat your food or drink while you are missing… Towels soap and everything cost extra.

Amazing to meet people! Close to the park Rodo, the beach and the bus station (tres cruzes 2km, bus stop is infront of the house). I was traveling alone and met 10 friends there!

The bed was super old and you could feel every spring in your back. The waterpressure in the shower wasn't great for long hair.

If you want to use the hostel's airport shurtle service, ignore their advice regarding dropoff times!! Despite double checking if we'd have enough time with our luggage at the airport several times, we weren't allowed to checkin anymore because baggage drop-off was closed already. We had to rebook our flight, costing us a lot of money and time. No response whatsoever after confronting them with this. The hostel itself isn't that great either, with dated rooms, windows that don't fully close, only cold water, and lots of noise. Many mosquitos as well.

Unfortunately the staff were not welcoming. We arrived late and tired after travelling. They tried twice to overcharge us, only conceding the correct price when I dug out our booking confirmation. There was then an argument about payment in dollars or pesos. After this the staff were moody and sarcastic. Our bedroom was ok but our son had a dirty sock in his bed. Disappointing.

This is what you wait from an hostel, I'm glad I switched to a more human size hostel where I met people of all ages and with different goals not always partying. Its calm and full of attention for your need. The staff helped me with a lot of things thanks again.
