Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomno bed ladder! receptionist didn't speak any English, completely fine as used translator but it took him a while to stop trying to communicate with me in Spanish until he realised! Bathrooms weren't amazing but otherwise for one night nice enough stay :)

Hong KongThe toilet cubicles were noticeably small. While they served their purpose, a bit more space would have been appreciated for added comfort and ease of use. Another inconvenience was the lack of hangers in the shower area. This made it challenging to keep towels and clothes organized and within reach. Additionally, there was a lack of drying possibilities for wet bath towels in the dorm. It would have been helpful to have designated areas or hooks where guests could hang their towels to dry. This would not only prevent towels from becoming damp but also contribute to a tidier and more comfortable dorm environment. One significant drawback was the timing of the kitchen facility and breakfast availability. Both were only usable and available after 8 am. This posed a challenge for guests who needed to catch early buses or had early morning plans. Lastly, there was only one ladder per room, which meant that guests on the upper bunk beds had to climb or jump down. This could be a safety concern, especially for less agile individuals. Despite these minor inconveniences, the 4 bed dorm provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The cozy atmosphere, comfortable beds, and overall cleanliness of the room were commendable. The staff members were friendly and helpful, adding to the positive experience.
Spacious common room. Well organized hostel with friendly staff. Reliable internet with good breakfast buffet.

United KingdomKitchen is closed overnight, and only opens at 8am, breakfast served at 8am so unfortunately we missed this and couldn’t make anything for ourselves when we left (our bus was at 6.30am)
5 minute walk to the bus station, big room (4 bed dorm) with big lockers, great kitchen space, we only stayed one night but would definitely spend more time here! Staff were great!

CanadaKitchen isn't open until 8am so if you have an early bus don't leave your lunch in the fridge. You will not have access to it 😔
Excellently run hostel. Close to the bus station and beach. Was only there one night and left early in the morning but would definitely stay there again for longer. Big kitchen and common area

GermanyThere are not enough ladders for the beds, so if I had been in a high bed, idk if I would have gotten up there. And there were no locks on the toiletts and showers, which were generally nearly always a bit dirty.
Great vibe among the guests and the surprise breakfast was nice.

VietnamIf you get a top bunk you will have to climb up - a difficult feat for some with no ladder! Note that you will be locked out of the kitchen/communal area until 8am (breakfast time), so make sure to organise yourself in advance if you plan on heading off treaking early
This is a large hostel which is convenient if you want to spend some time alone to organise your admin, etc. Large communal area with tables perfect for laptop use. Impersonal but very functional set up. Friendly and very efficient staff considering the turn over. By far the cheapest place to stay in San Martin

United KingdomPillow was covered in a weird plastic and when we were there it was loud with people partying late (it was Easter). Would have been good if there were quiet hours. Only a small bathroom for a lot of people so could get cramped
This was a last min booking for us and we were really happy. Great location with lots of food places nearby and only a short walk to the centre. They took card and the dorm rooms were clean and comfy. Free water refills and clean kitchen

United KingdomOnly 2 female toilets and 2 showers all in the same room for all female guests. Each room has a room key, but only 1 per room and you’d have to return it each time not being used. They wouldn’t actually check who took the key each time though so it didn’t seem a logical way to do things. Would have been better for everyone to use the card for the front door on their own room doors too?
Good sized hostel with kitchen facilities and dining room. One staff member was super helpful and went out of his way to contact a local tour agent to get me onto a bus tour through the 7 lakes to Bariloche. The hostel is very close to the lake and near a walk to a great viewpoint.

United KingdomThat there were some fellow hostel clients that didn't clean up after themselves in kitchen or loos. Hostels depend on the community being responsible for their own cleaning up after themselves. There was only one incident in the kitchen and a morning in the toilets and it wasn't the fault of the hostel. So a nice reminder to everyone staying in hostels, please clean up your mess people for everyone's sake...
Very well located. The staff worked hard to keep the kitchen and loos clean. Good that there were 2 cookers to use. They got a lot of use and people tended to stagger cooking times a bit so they could cook meals properly and lots of people did including me. The fridges got quite crowded but there was enough storage space and great respect for everyone's own food. The beds were comfy though you had to watch your head on the bottom bunk. I stayed for a week and I found the hostel very relaxing and there were lovely boat trips to locations around the lake and plenty of walking that you can do on your own. Pretty little town too.
