Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaBreakfast options were awful! At check-in we were told that we would have to pay a lot more to use a credit card (this was not indicated in our booking). The staff barely speak English. At check-out we had to wait for a staff member to go check our room first -- not sure if they thought we might steal something or have forgotten something, but that has never happened to me or my spouse in 40 years of travelling.
Was a cheaper central option than many other hotels. We were allowed a late departure of 1 hour.

Great location, really close to tourism offices, bus station, shopping and restaurants. Great view of mountains and bay. Very friendly staff that were super helpful, let us store luggage before our check in when we arrived early + after we checked out. Good breakfast, simple but filling and lots of options. Heated tile floors made room very warm and amenities were very clean. Very little is provided with the room but you have what you need. Beds are small and firm but comfortable.

United StatesThe owner was very helpful and did everything to help me find a currency exchange. I had olny Chilian pesos, and most of the currency exchanged only dollars and euros. She called all currencies exchange stores in town and found for me one which was very close to the hotel. The manager of the hotel was very professional and also very resourceful. He helped me to rent a car and it took him only a few minutes. Amazing helpful people. If you travel on your own for sure they will help you so you can feel safe and welcome.
