Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe window frames are blocking the view if staying inside in winter. The dish washer and oven didn’t work.

Australiawe stayed the ocean view beach and pet friendly house with a group of old friends, it doesn't only made us recall lots of great memories, but also let us enjoy lots of activities: boat fishing and beach walking with dog. If you like natural environment, this is the place.

AustraliaMaybe some milk and butter in the fridge. Although its hard with allergies and preference so it's best to stop at a shop along the way.
We stayed 1 night. Views of the ocean were spectacular. Awesome location, walking distance to the Merry Beach Restaurant. 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Comfy beds. Water pressure was great. Communication was excellent, asked for a late checkout which they were able to do.

AustraliaThe view was amazing and the size of the house was fantastic. The owners were really easy to deal with and accommodated an early check in for us as we were attending a wedding.

AustraliaThere were maggots coming out of the bathroom drain when we arrived and again the next day. The fitted sheets for downstairs bedroom did not fit. Too small. Within a short time of our arrival an electric circuit failed and the fuse box could not be fixed. We were without electricity and water for a few hours and without electricity and hot water for nearly 24 hours till an electrician was able to fix the problem next day. The owners and cleaner were very helpful in sorting out the problem. Fortunately the lights worked! Despite the spectacular outlook the windows with very small panes made the view from inside very limited and there was no seating on the verandah.
The location was great and there was plenty of room for all 9 of us.

Australia-House is very very old and run down. It's like visiting your grandparents home from the 1970's and nothing has changed and some things are very old/don't work/ hard to use. Theres even rules written on notes like no food/drinks or shoes upstairs.... -Place is tidy but not very clean. The downstairs floors felt greasy and dusty. Cobwebs around, and on windows with the fantastic views. Dish towels smelt awful, like they weren't dried properly and then left inside for weeks. We didnt even get a new sponge for washing up, we got used ones with brown stains! Dont open the drawers either..you will find them either stiff or has rubbish in them. Even the fireplace had plastic rubbish in there. Windows are also very dirty! - Sheets provided but you have to make your own bed. Not a big deal for me, but seeing the dirty mattress /pillow protectors with yellow and brown stains was a bit off putting. I know this probably happens in resorts too but ignorance is bliss and knowing you are sleeping on stained protectors is a turn off. - Mozzies.OMG..the mozzies. We used the mozzie zapper device and didnt open any doors or windows (except to enter and leave the house) but the ensuite and lounge was still full of them. We slept in the ensuite and had to relocate as it was so bad. It could be from the crazy rain but nonetheless, made sleeping a nightmare. - there are two fireplaces - but no firewood? Not sure if they were somewhere outside but i wasn't keen to schlepp around in the dark hunting firewood..surely it should be next to the fireplace? - BYO food. UberEats do not deliver here! And the one restaurant up the road was closed on Saturday night. Nothing else close by, need to drive for food. - As mentioned earlier, no connectivity except for Telstra. SOS the whole time! Some people might actually like this...
Great locations, right behind the beach. Good views from the house. Can hear the waves crashing, very soothing. Very spacious house, great for 2-3 families to stay here. If you want to disconnect from the world - this is your place/suburb. No connection whatsoever (not the home owners fault..NBN etc need to pick up their game). SOS the entire time, couldn't text or call. Only Telstra had signal. Wifi provided is very weak and only has enough power to send a Whatsapp message if you are next to the modem, and forget Netflix. Close to the beach so you can walk there - but be warned, due to so many kangaroos in the area, there is poop everywhere. We took the short cut and walked to the beach via the street infront of the house and had to walk on overgrown grass and through the rocks down to the beach and there were heaps of poop on the grass. U cant avoid them at all. I think it was the kangaroos toilet. But you can wash ur shoes when u reach the beach =) Theres another route via the campsite and its all quiet streets and cleaner. There is a large spa and sauna inside the house - aka the "spa centre". Owners are easy to deal with and quick to respond to questions.
