Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaThe district is not very good, there are full of drug dealers, thieves, I saw someone stealing food from grocery store nearby. As male workers are taking care of this place, it is not very clean, surfaces in my room were dirty. There was a fan in my room, but it was still too hot. There was an option to have dinner/ breakfast for additional charge, but all the products I saw around did not look fresh, had no wish to use this service.
I liked that I could find cheap place to stay. Train station is close.

AustraliaNot a lot of fridge space. Powdered milk for coffee. And sometimes can house undesirables, like the hysterical ragged woman who was getting kicked out as I arrived.
I liked that I got to have my own space, even if it was just a room, it my room for a night. I've paid more for a backpackers hostel which didn't have a smokers area, had to share with 3 other blokes and dormitory style setting. Here you get a literal house with your own safe and private (and not small either) room.

ItalyNot very clean, but o expected that. So that's fine. Anyway nothing too much. The only tip I want to give to all people with car: The parking it's perfectly easy to find around that area bit it's 2P or 4P. So you should move the car every couple of hours. And.. to be honest it's maybe better to pay a full day parking somewhere around so u don't have to worry about that meanwhile you visiting the city.
The owner is really kind and gentle if you need anything. The house is really nice. Not too far from CBD. Maybe 30 minutes by foot. The chance to be close in your space, when you are in bed, it's really good. Also because you have your private light and private charger. Also, really quiet. Big kitchen, 2 bathrooms, nice living room and terrace.

AustraliaI was a little disappointed with the room decor. Back curtains is not so appealing. Different than the picture indicated. But the fact that I was warm enough and it was quiet, made up for it. Also, a decent towel without bleach stains would also have been better.
It was convenient. I needed somewhere to stay at the last minute and something non expensive. The room and bathroom were very clean.

United Arab EmiratesI stayed in a capsule and I don't recommend it for ladies travelling alone and planning to stay in a capsule. Recommended if you are travelling with your friends or with someone since the capsules are mostly occupied by gents not for ladies who are a bit conservative, sensitive with noise and fragile. I believe some of the guys staying in the capsules are working so they are leaving in the morning and mostly there at night. PS: Nothing bad actually happened but it is better to be safe especially for ladies like me travelling alone as the only cover in your capsule is a curtain. You will see mostly boys in the house and inside the room and you will hear voices from the kitchen and footsteps from the 2nd floor late night.
The location is very accesible. From the airport you can buy a ticket and ride the skybus until Southern Cross station, Then from Southern Cross Station look for the platform going to North Richmond station. Once you go down in North Richmond turn right and it is about 5 minutes walk to the lodge. I arrived early and they accommodated me immediately since there was already available capsule with no extra early check-in charge. There are lots of restaurants nearby. It is okay kind of for budget friendly travellers who wants to save money and just wanted to have space to sleep. If you have a strong personality and could able to manage staying with boys in one room with capsules then this is a good choice for you (for ladies) I suggest to bring your own toiletries, blanket, pillowcase and towel Note that their price is almost half of the hotels that's why they are categories as budget friendly lodge. So if you wish to have a comfortable room to stay then better to spend a little extra money for your better experience and comfort or book a shared room with ladies and look somewhere nearby city center with walking distance to the attractions to save your tram / train fare with an average cost of 5 Aud per ride.

SingaporeThe area where the accommodation was located did not seem very safe. Additionally the other occupants were drinking quite heavily in the common area (and could be smelt upon entry from the front door), and thus did not feel safe. The room did not have any sound proofing at all and could hear the front door opening and closing, as well as people going up and down the stairs.
Was conveniently located just outside of the main city area, and connected by tram and trains
