Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United Arab EmiratesMy experience at the apartment, which I booked based on booking.com advertisement, was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, the stark contrast between the advertised photos and the grim reality hit me like a ton of bricks. What was depicted as a luxurious accommodation turned out to be an eerie, dilapidated dwelling reminiscent of a ghost house. The outdated interior, particularly the bathroom and bathtubs, were in a deplorable state, far from the promised standards of comfort and cleanliness. Disheartened and appalled by the blatant misrepresentation, my family and I could not bear to spend more than thirty agonizing minutes in such unsanitary and inhospitable conditions. The disparity between the idyllic portrayal on Booking.com and the grim reality we encountered is nothing short of deceptive. We checked out within 30 minutes and booked a room elsewhere. Please find the photos which I have taken in the property. Please zoom the phots and check for yourself, the steps are creaky , the apartment is very old, lot of dirty corners in the accommodation. Its best avoided. Additionally both booking.com and apartment owner refused me any refund. I booked this property for 720 AUD in Bookin.com.
Honestly, the apartment was so unclean that, I did not even stay there for 30 minutes. I did not like anything here.

United KingdomThe stairs were awful, we had to unpack downstairs. Poison traps inside the property, presumably for cockroaches or something similar. The bathroom is downstairs and needs updating. The property is just too old to get to a high enough standard of cleanliness. Towels were left wet in the washing machine and stunk on arrival. Had to be rehwashed. A cupboard shelf had never been cleaned in weeks. Problems with luggage if you are on an early flight. You need to book a day room, booking.com should consider offering this service. Delivery trucks to the care home opposite use their loud beeping reversing warning, waking you at 3.30 in the morning.
The location was excellent. There was some new kitchen equipment and furniture. Close to restaurants on Savill Street. The outside space through the second bedroom was useful when not raining.
