Helena was a great host! Some nice extras left for us that I was not expecting

I never received the promised SMS on the day, so didn’t have the correct code to enter. Because booking.com sends a PIN code for some unknown purpose, that confused things and it took sometime to get in. Apparently we were also meant to receive the wifi password this way too, but I had to reach out the next day for this as I didn’t have very good phone coverage at all. I’m with Vodafone though, not great anywhere in Mudgee to be honest. An important note for those that require an accessible property, you will have much difficulty accessing the property from your vehicle. The only car spot in the driveway next to our gate was taken by a very large Ute/truck, the driveway consisted of large loose gravel, which is almost impossible to walk on if you have an injury, anyone with walking aids, wheelchairs, etc., would not be able to get through easily if at all. I finally lost my footing after so many near misses. Not being able to park near the entrance made it a huge job to unload and load our belongings each time. The only other very small thing was that we could not find a single spoon in the entire place. Unlikely the fault of the owner, perhaps the last guests took a bunch home with them. As I said these are small inconveniences, but stirring coffee with knives, and eating ice cream with forks was interesting. First world problems I’m sure.

Overall our stay at 44 the Lane was great. Such a beautiful place, so clean, plush furnishings, and really comfortable. It is positioned in a great spot, 5 minute walk to most cafes, restaurants, and shops. Although I would still rate our stay as excellent, there were a few things that were slightly inconvenient, and may not even be the hosts’ fault whatsoever.

Had to Park on the street and move the car as it was only 2 hour parking. Neighbours were a little noisy but that was not the fault of the host.

Perfect location for visiting the town. Breakfast provisions and standard of utensils and linen was excellent. Lovely touches with decor and information freely available.

The only thing was that we had a lovely fireplace but couldn't find a match to get it going :) We were very conscious to keep everything tidy, would be good if there was a broom so we could sweep up, particularly since it was a it wet outside. Found a dust pan and made do.

Location was great. The property met our expectations and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor courtyard area, would've used it more except weather, but next time. It was very cosy and felt homely

The living area was a little dark but comfortable. No wifi.

Walking distance to town and facilities. The ‘welcome’ treats were a lovely bonus. Room to move throughout the apartment. Bathroom is spacious with heated towel rails. Kitchen is well equipped.

Dusty, needed allergy tabs , realise its an old property Builders next door working on beauty place woke us at 6am Sunday morning using drop saw/ circ saw No cutlery, only 2 forks and 2 steak knives, no spoons?

Lack of parking as apartment upstairs was booked long term and used the 2 spots .only 2hour parking in town .lack of natural light so lights were on alot.otherwise a great stay .

We stayed at this property 12 months earlier and found it to exceed our expectations, with the lovely, personal touches and attention to detail. This time we expected the same but sadly, was a bit different. The fresh flowers in the lounge room were dying, the bedroom floor carpet had not been vacuumed and our check-in was delayed by nearly an hour. Unfortunately the previous guest had been difficult so I understand how hard the cleaner had to work to clean up after her. The previous guest must also have been a smoker as the place smelled of smoke and air freshener, which didn't do an adequate job.

Very generous and friendly host, providing a bottle of local Mudgee red wine, fresh local eggs and bacon, and a loaf of fresh bread. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom and living room were spacious. Fully equipped kitchen and a sunny outdoor area for dining in a pretty native garden.

Great location right in the heart of Mudgee. Beautifully presented property with quality inclusions and comforts. Bacon, eggs, butter and milk in the fridge. A complimentary bottle of wine. A very helpful and obliging host. Well heated. Loved the fireplace.

Cosy one bed cottage, perfect place to stay in CBD. Quiet, clean with beautiful fireplace and parking. Highly recommend, we will definitely stay again.
