Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyTea and coffee making in the room would be nice. The breakfast in the foyer was mostly sweet carbs apart from some fruit. Parking is very expensive and difficult. My final booking was very expensive. The rooms mostly had no window or a small window above the toilet, which was separated from the room by a glass door and curtain.
The staff were friendly and helped me when I forgot my phone after being locked in the stairwell because my room key did not work on an extended booking. It was very close to central for walking to the airport train.

AustraliaI do like a kettle and tea in the room, but having a nice coffee machine free in the lobby is great.
Great little hotel in a great location. Friendly staff. Tea and coffee and snacks in the lobby is a nice idea (though no kettle in the room). Ironing board in the room is good.

AustraliaI was not a fan of the size of our room for the price. The only window was in the bathroom with a glass wall with curtains to divide the bathroom to the hotel room which was a little weird. Non of this is anything they can do better, but you just need to be aware. My main prob is the security deposit, I was told on major events the deposit is $100 and any other time its $10. My daughter stayed on the Mardi Gras weekend and glitter was left on the carpet. I agree they had to clean it so should keep some of the deposit but they took the whole $100. I stayed there a week later and paid a $10 deposit so if I got glitter on the floor and they had to clean it, it would have costs $10 to clean??? bit confusing and not happy they took the whole $100
Location was awesome, very friendly staff, good facilities in the foyer and very clean. would stay there again but only for 1 night any longer Id feel a little claustrophobic.

AustraliaAdditional TV channels would have been great. Especially to watch the NRL on the Saturday night. Apart from that we were happy with our stay.
We have stayed previously in the same type of room (Twin Shoebox). We think the room is awesome and the facilities are great. I specifically booked here again as our previous stay was great. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and of great assistance. We will definitely be back again.

AustraliaUnable to see outside - no view - windows were either too high or Perspex.
A block from Central - excellent location close to lite rail, trains and coaches. On the Surry Hills side so a little quieter. Woolies grocery store nearby. Loved the coffee and lounge near reception. Able to enjoy a pastry for breakfast and read a complimentary paper.

AustraliaRoom size. Nothing in bar fridge - not even some milk or complimentary water. Breakfast choices limiited to sugar based snacks. How about savoury options? It takes a short course in learning the self-serve coffee machine - somewhat temperamental. There are far better ones!
Close to Sydney central. Funky design of the decor Very clean rooms. Hotel size means it's not overcrowded like big hotels. Easy check in and checkout. Good staff service.

South AfricaIt’s all good, the hotel serves it’s purpose
My first stay at the 57 & it turned out to be a good choice. Staff friendly and helpful, room was just right for my needs. The hotel is within walking distance from Central which was a key criteria as well as close to amenities, all of which were met.

AustraliaThere is no in-room fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. The lobby had a big coffee making machine as well as a selection of teas, which compensated. Also, the provision of a complimentary light breakfast in the lobby was great.
Location was excellent. We drove to the hotel, but once there, we used public transport to get around the city. The hotel is ideally located for this - very close to Central Railway Station, as well as the light rail and buses. Also very easy walking distance to many different cafes and restaurants.

United StatesNegatives – NOT deal breakers: The venue is beginning to show its age and the rooms are generally in need of some upgrades and a freshening up. My room was dark…no window. Brown carpets, no separate closet (Hooks to hang) and a safe that was non-functioning. The bathroom is for the unfamiliar completely open with shower-toilet-basin not separated. For those with mobility issues, yes accessible, but…no safety mat and very slippery floors. Yes, accessible, but no grab bars if you are upright. Yes, It’s a safety issue. The toiletries included the smallest sized allocations of shampoo & conditioner (Unknown brands) and an itsy-bitty sized soap ever so slightly larger than an Aussie 50 cent piece. (Yes, I compared). A stay more than a day will require replenishing your meager supply. Checkout time is earlier than most, 10:00 AM, however they will happily store your luggage. Finally, as another safety issue, be sure you pull your door closed on exit, mine did not close & lock without assistance. Final alert, not the Hotel’s issue: Sydney now ranks #2 as the most expensive city in the world after Hong Kong…prepare for “Sticker Shock” everywhere.
This is my 3rd stay at this venue over a ten-year period. Located in the Surry Hills section of Sydney it is a five-minute stroll from Central station and near key tram stops. For those arriving by plane, Central station is 15 minutes by train, negating the need for taxis and facilitating relaxing low stress entries and exits at an inexpensive cost. High-speed wi-fi with easy sign on functioned well. The room had a small fridge (Not stocked) that you can store items in. Easy walking distance to Chinatown and multiple restaurants and bistros, including breakfast spots. I booked a king room with comfortable bed, very quiet for an excellent night’s sleep with a well-functioning AC (important during the summer). Self-serve, 24-hour coffee-expresso is available in the lobby and of high quality. There are pre-packaged muffins and some fruit available for “breakfast” but no hot items. There is no on-site gym, but arrangements can be made to access a local one for a fee. Summary: All told, excellent location, most satisfactory stay, a solid 7.50.
