Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaA beautifully presented cottage we based ourselves in to see some of the southern sights. We found this cottage to be clean and have all the comforts we needed for our stay. The bed was so comfortable and kitchen had a coffee maker and cooking facilities. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The fireplace was lovely and we managed to sit outside in the lovely courtyard for afternoon nibbles. The communication between the owners was wonderful as they sent us lots of information before our stay so we could plan our visit. Highly recommended and thank u to the owners for making such a beautiful place to stay in Richmond- we will certainly be returning

It was nice and close to Richmond Town centre. Very cosy and intimate feeling to the cottage. The hosts Gabby and Greg were very welcoming and thoughtful in having wood precut for the fire and lovely breakfast items. Country charm and lovely back garden.

AustraliaNothing it was all perfect.
This place was perfect. It is very modern and nicely designed with lots of natural light. Everything was great - the bed was comfortable, shower worked well, the items left to eat, the fireplace worked perfectly. There is plenty to do in area during the day - walks, sights, wineries etc. The place is just few minutes walk from Main Street which is nice. The whole area is nice to walk. It was spotlessly clean. The host was very responsive. There are limited options to eat at night so one needs to just plan ahead but heaps of options during the day.

AustraliaThere is nothing not to like
In a word, everything. This has been the most amazing property we have stayed in in Tasmania, the cottage is very private and quiet, the décor is just lovely, decorated with a sense of flair and space including Lux bedding and towelling. So comfortable especially on cold winter nights. The hosts are incredible (we only got to meet Gabby on this occasion) they could not have been more welcoming and accommodating, from the welcome breakfast pack (the most delicious bacon ever) to the changing of towels and amenities every second day to the ever replenished stock of wood for the combustion heater to personally meeting us on arrival to discuss our travel plans and giving us tips and hints to local attractions, the cottage is run by people who truly understand hospitality. A special experience, we would love to stay again.

AustraliaGabby and Greg have created a beautiful, relaxing and comfortable space in their lovely cottage. There were lots of luxurious touches throughout, with everything you need in a home away from home. The wood heater heated up the cottage perfectly and the bed was superbly comfortable. A generous breakfast was included for our stay, which was delicious. Located at the back of the main house, with off street parking and your own courtyard / garden, meant it was very private and quiet. Only a short stroll into town, which was also great. Would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a lovely and welcoming place to stay in Richmond.

AustraliaThe only thing we didn't like was having to leave.....
Gabby and Greg have truly created a beautiful home away from home that tastefully compliments its historical surrounds. The bed was very comfortable , the kitchen was well appointed, and the fireplace made the cold winter nights incredibly cosy. We were welcomed with a beautiful and friendly smile along with a wonderful, fresh breaky pack. Early morning pats with Dash were a highlight too.

AustraliaEverything about the cottage is thoughtful and beautiful, Gaby was super responsive, and very respectful of my privacy. I had three peaceful days at the cottage to write, it’s a writers dream stay. An easy walk to the village which is full of history and gorgeous cafes and shops. The fire was ready to light when I arrived, and it was warm and cosy even when it was cold and drizzly out. A fully functioning kitchen, and local ingredients supplied for a gourmet breakfast. Thanks so much! I would love to stay again one day.

AustraliaEverything was perfect.
A Cottage in Richmond was perfect. Gabby is a “super host” and thought of everything. The communication before arrival was good. On arrival the cottage had all of the essentials and then lots of extras. The bed was very comfortable, the linen and towels were good. Gabby brought fresh towels and top up supplies after the first 2 nights. The breakfast provisions were delicious, great bread, bacon, eggs, butter and jam. The cottage is just a short walk into town over the historic Richmond Bridge. We would absolutely recommend this host and will stay there again if we return.
