Plates and cutlery would be better kept in main room than in bathroom for hygiene purposes and rooms could use a coat of paint

The best part of this country retreat is that is a retreat set in a lovely part of Victoria! Don't expect luxury but it is clean and comfortable and the surrounds are amazing and well kept. Visitors visiting over winter will love the fireplace in the room.

There weren't any mugs, glasses, teaspoons, spoons for breakfast, no knives for spreading butter on toast, no extra toilet rolls in the bathroom, we were told to ask them if we need anything just ask, we shouldn't have to ask for anything as it should be already in the room and to only have one toilet roll and then have to ask for more is not good. The shower temperature fluctuates from severe hot to freezing cold. There is very poor lighting outside the rooms, and there needs to be proper steps to step off the verandah and there are trip hazards on the ground ie:- block of concrete, pipes, short posts sticking out of the ground that are painted dark green that can't be seen in the dark, my first stay there I tripped over the concrete block in the dark when returning after a night out. Maybe a decent driveway to be made on the north side of where our room was.

Car parking near my cabin was occupied when I came in to sleep. I had to walk through wet grass / mud to access my accommodation which was not helpful. Small matter overall though!

Great spot & good facilities remotely located making such a standard even more welcome.

we were upgraded to a nice room, fully stocked, clean etc. the location is rural with expansive grounds and a lake. manager is friendly helpful chap.

Set in a beautiful location with lots of wildlife and beautiful gardens to enjoy. The rooms are somewhere old fashioned but still comfortable and have everything you need. The owner was very welcoming and friendly

Very picturesque - loved the lake, the trees, the geese. Cabin was very comfortable and nicely designed and decorated.

The bed was uncomfortable, having two single beds pushed together, we could feel the edged piping of the single beds in the middle of the bed, which was very uncomfortable.....It needs a proper queen size mattress on top of the single bed bottoms.....We were expecting a proper bed and mattress for the accommodation costs, to be honest with you. It needed extra spare toilet rolls.

We totally loved the accommodation and the country area where it is situated, only a short drive to the nearest town. Our hosts were very accommodating, friendly staff.....We would definitely be back 🥰

NO TV. There was a TV but no reception. The cabins need a bit of a refurb. Although comfortable they are a bit run down. Also, the rubbish needs to be removed from the rooms each day not left and things like extra rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom cupboard would be nice. Bed very firm - not to my liking but that is just personal preference.

The location was perfect. The cabin was overlooking the lake. Plenty of birdlife and kangaroos come to the lake of an evening. There is a small wood fireplace in the cabin that although we didn't need it, would be great in winter. The property is a short 10 minute drive into Alexandra - close but removed enough for true peace and quiet. Bathroom was very roomy and the shower had plenty of hot water.

Poor signage to property, no face to face contact with staff, it was rather sad that the property’s full potential is no longer being utilised. It’s obvious that property has seen better days.

Clean, comfortable, beautiful outlook, lovely location. We enjoyed the bird life on the lake and seeing the kangaroos on our walk was a real treat. We’d certainly come back again.

BYO everything to do with meals: toaster, crockery, cutlery, preparation utensils; everything. This establishment is set up to double as a reception/conference venue, so there is an in-house restaurant and dining room. I assume that is why the accommodation room has very very limited kitchen/dining facilities. No toaster. No crockery besides a couple of small teacups. No cutlery besides a teaspoon. Absolute bare minimum tea & coffee supplies. No chairs and table to sit and eat a meal, anyway. This would not really be a problem if the central restaurant/dining room was still operational. But the restaurant/dining room is out of action. We'd come prepared for BYO most things, so it wasn't too much of problem for us. But the property is located some distance from the nearest town, so if you hadn't come prepared, it would be an issue for sure. Also, some extra hand-towels, etc, besides a single bath towel each would have been nice.

One of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. The room's dimensions and decor were pleasant, pleasing and calming. The grounds were likewise pleasant, pleasing and calming.

The facilities weren't super clean and the walls seemed to be quite thin as you could hear noise from the next room.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. His dog, Marley, was super sweet. The grounds are nice to explore and it's very quiet.

Very Chinesey, clearly has been taken over to cater for mainland Chinese guests. Has a haphazard feel to the place. Maintenance has been let go. Used to be in better shape. Fine for overnight stay, but I wouldn't recommend a longer one.

Pleasant location in a valley. Bed mattress was just right. I enjoyed the morning bath! Desk large enough to read the weekend paper. Aircon was effective.

The fire alarm went off multiple times from the middle of night which ruined our sleep and left us tired to drive back home. Very disappointed. We could not have a relaxed night.

There was heaps of rubbish bags in various places around the rooms,just piled up. Hopefully they are just cleaning up and waiting for a skip to arrive. If you come here,book a CABIN.
