The hostel is quite old and is lacking a bit of charm (however it is well maintained). The plugs in the rooms are in the most unpractical locations, e.g. behind lockers, and there is too less. For that reason I had to charge all my electronics in the bathroom which was a bit annoying. Laundry prices are a bit expensive: 4$ per wash, 2$ for washing powder and 4$ for the dryer. If you want a towel that’s also 2$ extra. The pans in the kitchen are in an extremely bad condition. All of them had no coating anymore and had lots of bumps in them. I don’t know how you’re supposed to cook anything with them.

The location is great: right in the center, close to the beach and it only takes you about 10 minutes to walk to the Greyhound/Premier Bus stop and the marina for any boat trips. The rooms are big and have their own bathroom and balcony. Everything, including the kitchen and common areas, was really clean and the staff were friendly. Early check-in was super easy and you can store your luggage in some big lockers for free till your check-in time. The outside sitting area is really big with lots of tables and there is a little pool.

They only give you a sheet with no duvet or blankets. It wasn't too warm during my stay and I was cold at night especially when other guests put the Aircon on. My bed was right next to the Aircon. It's obviously a problem as someone has tied a sheet up to protect me from the icy blasts. If you know it's an issue then it might be best not to use this bed. .

The beds were comfy. Good kitchen and washing machine facilities, en suite bathroom and shower... but it's really all about the fabulous location. Really big lockers to store your stuff, also lockers to leave stuff if your doing an over night boat trip. I had lovely room mates who were very respectful and quiet both at night and early mornings. The majority of guests are very young backpackers but this wasn't an issue at all. I enjoyed my stay

The building is lacking a little character, but there's really not much to dislike if you're just after a cheap place to stay.

Great location within easy walking distance of most things. Dorm room was comfortable with several outlets, individual lockers and an en-suite bathroom. No parking but there was some close by. For budget accommodation it's hard to fault.

The room almost looked prison like except the bed. It’s also right next to the guest shower which sounded like it was in my room and I got woken up when a number of people showered around 5am.

It had a nice layout and the central courtyard was good, the facilities in the room were good.

There was a hole in the corner of the kitchen door where cockroaches could walk in and out.

You should have more charging options in the room. I think 9.30pm is a bit early to close all facilities. Only one side of the toaster didn’t work. Would have been great to see a few more tea spoons and brushes to clean used plates, pots, etc.

Check-in was super fast. Room was clean. Great to eat outside in the court. Clean Kitchen. Good location to Beach and shops, especially Woolworth.

En-suite bathrooms for dorms... Has never been a good idea and always leads to queues. No curtains/ outlets / lights at beds. Not enough outlets in general

Much better than many other Australian hostels! It's very clean, bunkbeds are much more stable than others, don't shake with every move, mattress was good, aircon in the rooms, even a balcony. Arrived by night bus and could use facilities, shower etc, do laundry until check in. Filtered water to refill your bottle. Big lockers in the rooms and also in common areas (for your luggage before check in / after check out)

Not a massive fan of en-suite bathrooms as you’re often waiting for roommates but it was clean and tidy

Well located for all the Whitsunday activities and Airlie beach generally. Kitchen area was cleaned well altho slightly on the small side. A/C worked really well which makes a difference in such a humid place! Quite a nice social atmosphere too

As soon as you left the room/kitchen you were outside which wasn’t great in the rain. The reception isn’t 24/7. Everything is really dated and there’s no plugs near the beds. The balcony doors rattled all night and the room door didn’t lock properly.

Balcony in the room was really nice, sturdy bunk beds with spacious room and bathroom. The location is very central and the kitchen is nice and big.
