How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the hill, & the jacuzzi was cold. parking space was a little tight.
clean, fairly spacious, pretty neat the town (although up a steep hill), great view from balcony. facilities were all good, tea & coffee left, beds comfortable, good room on the balcony.

A large area of the floor was damaged and it looked like there was no attempt to fix it recently. A mat was taped over the damaged area but it would crunch if you walked on it. This was in the middle of the living room so was very difficult to avoid.
The location was very close to the main part of town, but there was a very steep hill so we did get a good workout walking up the hill. The air conditioners worked well. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Pool was lovely and I as able to find a shady spot during the day.

Parking was difficult and we could not access the garage, also the tiles were sometimes slippery and a few were under repair.
The property was clean and tidy, the swimming pools great and the apartment was well equipped, especially the kitchen., a home away from home. It was a very short walk to town and although steep quite manageable. The view was beautiful.

only dislike was the hill it’s on, which is obviously something out of anyone’s control! no other dislikes
loved the layout, it was very comfortable, clean and was equipped with all the essentials that we needed for our stay. it’s in a great location, close to town and the beach, loved being able to walk everywhere

Parking was difficult. There was a garage but we didn’t have the key to get in so we parked in the visitors spots which wasn’t a problem but they’re just a bit awkward to get into. Not a big issue really, only if you have a big car. The apartment is also up a steep hill which wasn’t a problem for us but could be an issue if you have mobility problems.
Excellent location within walking distance from town. Wonderful view from balconies. Apartment was light and airy.

property itself is great but the walk up the hill from town is quite steep but no too long!!! found a awesome rooftop bar-anchors-halfway though!!
the view!!! absolutely stunning, the apartment was open plan with bedrooms quite spacious, all with built-ins and rooms with roof fans. kitchen area was spacious and well equipped. Air con installed as well but not required during our stay-mid June.

if you were to walk every day, the small stretch of road between the accomodation and the strip is extremely steep and a mission to walk up.
very well located close to the main strip and the apartment was well set and out extremely tidy and functional.

walk up the hill is a killer. was easier to take the other side of the road and use the stairs opposite. for some reason one of the pools was closed for maintenance, but we were there or 7 days and didn’t see any maintenance being done 🤷🏼♀️. car park is tight if you have a big car.
Fantastic views, clean, big enough for 6 people. great place to stay.

I think the key code should have been text to phone rather than email and then download . Service is not that great when your at the property so we had difficulties opening email and file with code. Another member had to log into my emails and use her service to get door key code. Bit annoying when everyone is tired and wanting to use a bathroom.

Laundry. Everytime we did our washing the drain would back up and overflow in the laundry.

Apartment had been poorly cleaned prior to our arrival- photos sent to Whitsunday Accom. Internet was non-existent. No DVD player present (was listed as included in unit). Kitchen poorly set up with cooking equipment - 2 small saucepans and an old fry pan. Limited parking - had to wait 2 days for garage to be opened.
Excellent location and view. Comfortable beds. Lovely pools.

Bedding configuration is stupid. Why not all king split beds. Double beds and queens are so inefficient.
