How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I thought there was a 2nd toilet- the living space was crowded for the 4 adults and baby- the outdoor space was limited, the photos take are very cleaver.
The location was perfect for us- we could walk out to the town, the host was quick to answer questions,

The bedrooms didn't have split system heating so the rooms were cold (there were portable heaters but they had to be very close to the bed so you could get burnt). I didn't realise it was a unit so bedrooms were near a shared driveway where we could hear the neighbours car & people walking up & down the driveway
The location was fantastic. Central to the main strip of shops, covered car space, house was clean & renovated inside & laundry was included.

Nothing, it was lovely! However, just a couple of small suggestions…. A platter or two for cheese and nibbles would have been appreciated. Also, some rails or hooks in the wet areas for the towels and mats.
Although street appearances of Alley Cats on arrival was a little underwhelming, it is indeed (true to website descriptions and photos), quite stylish and modern inside. It is very clean, tidy and comfortable accommodation, as well as being quiet and peaceful. It is very central, within easy walking distance to supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants not to mention, some truly lovely walking trails. It was ideal for our party of 4 adults.

I wish they supplied minor things like aluminium foil. Also toothbrushes if possible. Wish they had electric blankets and reverse cycle aircon in the room

There's only one toilet in the whole house 😅 and the house allows for up to 6 guests... So that was a little inconvenient!
Beautifully designed space. Really near the city centre! The pictures are accurate.

There were a couple of things which impacted the overall comfort of the property. No towel rails or hooks were provided and only one towel per person - so it wasn’t possible to keep your towel dry. There were only four chairs inside yet the property sleeps six - it was raining while we were there so couldn’t sit outside. There were also possums in the walls/ceiling which we could hear running around day and night.
Fabulous location right in town! The property is nicely furnished and the beds were comfortable.

being charged extra on the original costs where it stated all inclusive. The extra costs blindsided us and even thou we paid cleaning, we were still asked to do cleaning before leaving? Other than that, only a couple of things. cleaner needs to pay more attention to grouting in bathroom and extra, more accessible power points to lounge and an exhaust fan in toilet. small things but worth consideration. Street Bins were full and no one attended to put them out.

Not that we didn’t like but Very tight driveway, best to have as small a car as possible to be able to manoeuvre as easily as possible. Single beds very creaky and noisy with the slightest movement in bed but were reasonably comfortable
Location was great, in walking distance to everything in the town, shower was amazing!

Unfortunately the oven didn't work, which we only realised after preparing a meal to be cooked in the oven. We were able to salvage some on the BBQ, the rest was wasted unfortunately. The ANTs - I know those small ants are harmless but the smallest drop of water from the shower had them swarming. 2 out of 3 bedroom's and the kitchen had many many ants. we were careful not to leave any food out when we noticed their presence on the first night but it didn't help all that much.
Location was perfect, easy walking to town. it feels like a very luxurious stay
