Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI didn't like when Carl kinda was trying to give me a hint using subtle techniques that it was time for him and Allison to have some dinner in private and thus had too use a bit more vigour and actually say "I'd like to have some dinner with my wife; hint; hint". As we had been chatting for what felt like well over four or five hours, and actually was four or five hours, I was lulled into a false sense of security that we were all going to have dinner together. I kinda felt like the little kid in Mad Max. You know with Mel Gibson. That is, the hair blown, scruffy little fighter that throws that boomerang and chops that dude's fingers off. He gave that grimacing little snarl "Grrrrr", go back to your turf buddy. So I took the visual and audio cue and meandered back to my patch of turf at the back of the house feeling a bit dejected and wanting some company. What do you do. Go grab some MacDonalds I guess. That's what everyone does.
Well, given the above, I had to make a come back I guess. So I looked for the positives in my two night stay. I met this really genuine lady named Denise who was staying in one of the other rooms. My heart went out to her. We had a really heart to heart chat and bonded. She is going through a tough time and I promised her I would be her Pillar of Strength. That I would stand by her side when no one else would. I think this really just comes down to basic human decency. How can you walk away from someone that clearly needs help. The other aspect I liked was the selflessness, compassion, human decency and kindness that Allison and Carl displayed, as I was trying to deal with the loss of a work mate, the loss of a friend, the loss of someone I saw as the Son I always wanted, whom only days prior was killed instantly in a horrific and tragic head on car crash just outside of Coolgardie. The unconditional love they found together has healing powers beyond the description of words. Their combined spirit was literally and spiritually putting all the broken pieces in my heart and soul back together piece by piece. I think if it wasn't for them, I may have gone looking for a solid tree out on the road somewhere that I could line up and hit in my work ute at 180 kilometres an hour so the pain I was feeling would be gone and I could at least know I was amongst the Angels, as I was trying to believe it was Angel's that took him and not the Devil. I also have to thank Members/Police Officers of the Kalgoorlie Branch of the Western Australian Police Force, who somehow knew I was trying to deal with the tragic and horrific loss of a work mate, and entered the premises of Allora House concerned for my Welfare. I was trying to have a shower and there's the Police knocking on the bathroom door and saying "Your not in touble", "We are just concerned for your Welfare", which they genuinely were.

I had such a wonderful time staying at Allora House. Allison and Carl were the bomb hosts. They were so easy to talk to, and getting to know them was awesome. The house is just magic, beautifully renovated and comfortable, it felt like home. Definitely stay at Allora House if your ever in Kal people 😊🍻

AustraliaTiny rooms with shared living, kitchen and bathroom. It was a bit awkward with a family staying in other rooms while I was in one room (as a solo) and sharing the bathroom etc (they were all sweet though I would have avoided the situation if I could). But I guess some people would prefer the shared scenario, just not my cup of tea.
Good location, accommodating host, ran into a hot water issue which the host fixed soon.

AustraliaSingle bathroom with only 1 toilet to be shared with possibly 6 people. Room rather cramped - no place to place luggage except on floor to trip over. Off-street parking is difficult, ie, possible sharing of a single driveway by several vehicles.
