How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Would have like a bedside table on both sides of the bed, but room a bit small for that. Tiny bar fridge was completely full of drinks to purchase so no room for anything else and no freezer space in it.
Good bed. Very clean. Quiet. Liked the "sky" ceiling with the moon -- all backlit if you wanted to switch it on.

Knowing a contact number for after hours unsure if our message would be received when we had issue with door lock. Once received was fixed quickly

Would have liked a hairdryer
The only think that was missing for me was a hairdryer and there was nobody at reception to ask if there was one available.

Paying $100 pending credit card payment. for l guess any damages...l guess they get weekend revellers?...But was aware of that when booked....no problem but still waiting refund...am overseas atm...
Was a midweek night, so pretty quiet, great walk in shower, funky one room, small but great solo, close to train for early airport flight. Tick tick...

No wardrobe to hang clothes though a couple of hooks and hangers provided.
Friendly reception. Secure facility. Reasonable sized clean room with ensuite for one night. Perfect location to attend Fortitude Valley music hall. Plenty of eateries and train station within a short walk.

I wanted get some more UHT milk and reception had closed well before 7pm.
Loved the theme rooms. Added some fun, originality and creativity to what would normally be a routine hotel stay. The bed was very comfortable. Certainly a well stocked mini bar. And the location is great. So close to venues and eateries yet far enough away that it is quiet.

I would have liked a mirror with a light outside the bathroom so two people can get ready to go out at the same time.
Older building but everything you needed. I loved that you could open the window. Air-conditioning was quiet and didn’t feel drying like it often does. Room was dark and quiet. Handy to night time venues in either direction.

We got the Van Gogh themed room, which I loved. The room was quite small but everything was very clean and comfortable. We went to a concert at the Tivoli, and it was very handy to be staying so close. There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The lady at the front desk was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The stairs to the upper rooms were very narrow and a little difficult to climb with bags etc. If you aren't mobile, I wouldn't recommend this place but otherwise good.
Room was quirky but clean and tidy. Exactly what was required for a quick one night stay. The location was great as it is right in the Valley but far enough away from the main strip that it was nice and quiet.

The stair case is steep when it's early hours of check out, and it's still dark. However, nothing to worry about this is just a comment.
Staff are lovely and easy to work with while being professional. Respond quickly to emails to assist in the stay being comfortable.

It’s been spoken about a lot , but waiting for the hot water can be annoying.
We’ve stayed here a few times now, location is great if you’re heading out in the valley. It’s always exciting to get a new room with different themes!

A minor issue of the plugs/USB chargers, receptacles were a bit touchy.
Can't beat the location and staff were attentive and kind. All together a great hotel for a few day stay in Brisbane.
