How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Continental breakfast quite adequate. Great sourdough bread. Location was ideal for us just minutes from all the places we wanted to visit in the Yarra Valley.

I drove from Melbourne to stay overnight for an early morning function in the area. Allowed me a comfortable nights sleep in peaceful surroundings. I had no need to use the facilities which looked very good.

We stayed in the Deluxe garden villa, for two nights to attend a wedding. The room was beautifully styled and the owners had really thought about catering to all needs. In the one room was a kitchenette, lounge and smart TV, king bed with electric blanket, then a generous sized ensuite with spa bath. The property is on tank water as most rural properties are.so a water fountain was provided. The accommodation offers a continental breakfast, so when you arrive there is bread, cereals, butter, jam, yogurt etc waiting. The gardens are beautiful and you have your own entrance. Definitely would stay there again.

What an incredible stay we had. Rachel is so kind & friendly, greeting us on arrival. Our room was stunning and had everything we needed. We loved the communal kitchen area, as it had all the comforts of home. Great location to wineries! Beautiful views and so peaceful. Looking forward to staying here again!

The attention to detail is amazing. Rachel has tried to think of every little thing to make your stay perfect. Arriving in the cold to a warm room heated by a fire, with generous proportions of cushions, pillows and throws makes the whole place cozy and comfortable.. Spotlessly clean.

We found this to be a very beautiful place to stay for a romantic weekend. The styling and architecture of the room we stayed in was stunning! Rachel went out of her way to help us a number of times. The shared fireplace was a welcome addition to a sensational weekend. Also, the breakfast in the room was simple, fresh and quant, suiting the atmosphere of the accommodation.

Delicious simple breakfast that we could have in our room or the lovely common area. Enjoyed a cup of tea in the light filled sun room. The room had a comfortable bed, black-out curtains and was quiet for those valuing excellent sleep. We felt very welcome and would absolutely stay here again.

We were told to go away at 2.30pm because check in wasn't until 3. They are 7kms from town so where to go? Surely we could have been invited to sit in the lounge or by the pool if the room wasn't ready.
We loved the large room, extra lounge and kitchen however the pool was our favourite.

Serenity, all you can hear is birds frogs and the breeze through the trees. Heated floors in bathroom, amazing. Location - close to everything in the valley. Bi-fold doors opening the entire front of the villa Super comfy bed with High quality linen!

Location is a bit out of the way if you want to be close to the action.
The room was just perfect. It was a great size and felt warm and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and Rachel was a lovely host.

Eggs included for breakfast and 600ml of good juice would have been better than 2L of average juice. Really hard to find a negative thing though and this is more personal preference only.
Modern design cottage, fireplace and large spa bath. Oh and bathrobes, for some reason I love a hotel bathrobe. Beautiful bathroom amenities too. Love the inclusion of magazines, DVDs and games.
