How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The lift was a little suspect but gave no issues!

This is a tired facility in a tired town. They put us in a room with one bed; we had booked a room with two. The were quick to move us. New room had two non-working lights and no phone to contact the front desk (we were on the fourth floor). The lift had a very unpleasant odor. Whether due to the pandemic or summer break, many stores and eateries in the area were shuttered. Both the hotel and city had a 'ghost town' feel.
Clean, comfortable, secure. The staff was pleasant.

I confess that the swimming pool, tucked away under part of the building structure, didn't look particularly appealing.
"Stay at Alice" is brilliantly located compared to many of the more fancy hotels in Alice Springs. On one side, it looks out to the Todd River and on the other side, you open a door and you're immediately in the centre of town. The rooms were comfortable with good bench space and there are pleasant outdoor areas as well. There's a good Italian restaurant attached to the hotel as well.

Nothing not to like, a great place for a a short stay
A great place to stay right in the center of Alice Springs. Simply walk out the gate and you are in the Todd Street Mall, Close to all the Alice Springs attractions and amenities

Room in separate building from reception, had to cross large complicated courtyard-car park to find reception. Lift/elevator has no tactile buttons, lift/elevator also diesn't announce the floors, so difficult to know what floor it arrives at at times. Especially for blind-visually impaired guests. WiFi is a little complicated to ling into. Have to fill inform and log in each time to use internet. No breakfast or restaurant available. Room was very expensive.
A comfy double en-suite room on the 3rd floor. Large double bed with sheets, pillows and duvet, plus large bathtowels and small hand towels included. Kettle, plus tea-coffee and biscuits included in room. Fridge in room. Safe in room. Tactile number on room doors. Small balcony to look over large courtyard. Free fast speed WiFi in room. Desk with large TV, plus round table and comfy chairs near large window. Air condition in room. Plug sockets near bed. Good shower with good power and hot water. Bath mat provided. Hand soap in bathroom.

Some rooms, including ours, are very dark. There should be an option to allow people to select if sliding doors face a dark corridor or sunlight. This may not be an issue if you just stay overnight as a stopover.

I'd have liked a usb charging port as I left my 240v plug home.
Room was clean and comfortable and met our needs for a one night stay. It was nice and close to Todd St Mall for a great selection of places to eat.

Bathroom shower-head could do with a clean but otherwise the room was clean. Some garden / courtyard renovations underway which will be great when finished.
Breakfast closed too early at 0830 and we missed it. Other places nearby for breakfast were limited. But great for dinner - yummy Italian restaurant reasonably priced with good house wines.
