The hostel needs a really good cleaning. Our room had clearly not been cleaned before we arrived (dirt on carpets, stains, pieces of trash lying around). The common areas also could do with a deep clean. However for the nightly price we cannot complain :)

Good location, the manager who checked us in was very friendly and even organised a dorm to ourselves which was really nice :) clean bedsheets and towels on arrival. We didn’t use the kitchen but it seemed to have everything you would need

Location, it was 2,5 km from the Greyhound bus stop and the main road. Busses don’t start early and are not until late. No good connections, No ubers available and the cab didn’t show. So what are you going to do there? If you love walking around the beach it’s the place to be. My last experience was I had to walk with my heavy backpack for 2,5km to the bus.

Jackie (reception) was really great! She arranged I could stay in the room even though I had 2 bookings. Nice people, not party hostel. Just cosy. The facility was really clean. everyday they clean bathroom around 14:00 really good.

Smelt of smoke and damp / mould throughout. People smoking in the outside area right next to clean bedding & towels. The door for the ‘smoking area’ (where you walk through to enter the property) is left open and the smell comes into the kitchen next door. Can smell smoke in the bedrooms as well as damp. Womens toilets wall is next to the smoking area so bathroom also smells of smoke. Room not cleaned once whilst I stayed (4 nights) also dead moth in fan and another in the light. Mesh to prevent insects coming in broken so unable to open window. Didn’t report issues as didn’t feel comfortable doing so (solo female traveller). Also no plugs near bed and not enough for the amount of beds in the room.

I don’t understand the good reviews for this place. It gives a vibe of a place for homeless people struggling in life (very sad) more than happy travelers. The place looks run-down, the bedding smells like smoke/cigarette and my room has a weird smell and seems unclean. E.g. there are used cups in my room, which another travelled told me had been in there for days, which understates the suspicion that the room hasn’t been cleaned recently. Toilets seem unclean. I checked in, but after a short time sitting in there I couldn’t imagine sleeping there. I left without being offered my money back. Should have trusted my gut feeling. Unfortunately, not surprised to read the bad reviews afterwards about bedbugs

Dirty!!!! Room was filthy and got bitten by bedbugs badly. Tried to contact the owner and no response do not stay here unless you want to be bitten to death.

Unfortunately, there were bugs everywhere and we had bedbugs in our room which was a shame. We were offered a refund and the staff were really apologetic but it was a shame. Really appreciate their help, though.

The staff were really lovely and the hostel is a short walk from the jetty which is nice.

In addition to the fact that it was dirty, there were bedbugs in the room. The manager provided us with a new room when we went to complain but it was no cleaner and there were bed bugs too.The presence of bedbugs did not seem to worry or surprise the manager. I was supposed to stay there for 2 nights, but ended up staying only one.

The kitchen had cockroches and was generally not clean. Bed still had sheets from the last occupant. Good luck trying to find a fork to use. The room was a 6 berth, and it had 2 sockets in the whole room. The wall fan was broken, so they had supplied a mobile one, but that left us 1 plug for two of us to charge phones.

It was very quiet, only one other in a six berth dorm. Location was okay. Free use of washing machines.

I guess it could have been a bit cleaner. Some of the mattress' were degrading and some of the kitchen rules were not adhered too, but I had no problem really with this things as most of it was up to standard.

I liked that it was true backpacker style, pretty laid back, clean enough, flexible with bookings, good price, access to surfboards and kayaks. Great location. Very cold fridge, ample space. Plenty of communal areas. Nice, friendly and accommodating host.
