Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe ceiling needs replastering and doors need to lock better. It appears that people prefer to eat at the Tattersalls Hotel down the street. I feel that they may offer better food or they have more accommodation out the back.
The staff were kind and supportive. The first person was explanative about the hotel. The Argentinian workers were obliging and had great stories about their travels in Australia. These young people are pioneers as they are showing the way for others to experience the outback lifestyle in Australia. Their lack of complaint but determination to adjust to this lifestyle change is commendable.

Australiathe booking.com description of the property booked was 'one bedroom apartment' we were given an extremely small cabin. owners offered an upgrade to a larger cabin for an extra payment which we accepted. The problem according to the owners was the booking.com does not have 'cabin' as an option to describe accommodation. This needs to change as here in Australia cabins are a common form of accommodation. Having said that the owners descrption could have been a little more helpful.
the owners/staff were able to help with the problems relating to the booking

AustraliaThe floor was uneven, the sink leaked and the air conditioning was noisy. The bathroom was old and airy.
This is a very old and run down hotel. The location was very central and we had easy access to the Winton Festival. The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette was available to make a coffee/tea.

AustraliaThe TV was located above the head of the bed; hence, if you wanted to watch it, you'd have to sit on a chair at the end of the bed - odd. The shower, although functional, was small. And the air conditioner was on the noisy side.
We stayed in one of the cabins behind the pub in the heart of Winton. It was clean and comfortable, with plenty of parking.

AustraliaThe so called apartment was a room in a triple Cabin. So small for 2 people. As we were there for 3 nights we would have been better in a bigger cabin. Paper thin walls to hear our neighbors conversations on both sides

AustraliaCAbin accomodation was cold - reverse cycle a/c heating didn't work. We could hear every conversation in the neighbouring room and could see and presumably be seen through the cracks in the dividing wall. No hangers in the cupboard, and nowhere to put a case on the floor or elsewhere.
Friendly staff and good pub grub. Centrally located and convenient for visiting the town. Good car parking. Room had plenty hot water.

AustraliaSmall cramped bathroom
The hotel was right in the middle of town so an easy walk to everything. We had a small cabin out the back. It was basic but perfectly adequate for our stay. We even saw a demonstration of how to train a kelpie to round up sheep on our way to the cabin one morning.

AustraliaWe stayed in the 3 bdrm house which had rising damp with the large pool of water underneath. The carpet continually felt sticky and damp. The bathroom also had poor lighting and the shower screen would not stay closed. Uncomfortable, noisy spring bed in second bedroom. Poor internal lighting at night in bathroom and kitchen. Some stumps looked like they were ready to give way. TV screen little more than a large computer screen.
The facilities were passable for our needs with washing machine and dryer + kitchen facilities. Space was gnererous enough for 2 couples.

AustraliaThe hotel is an old hotel, so facilities were a bit antiquated, the communal bathrooms and toilets need screening on the windows to keep the moths out.
The location was great right in the middle of town. The single bed was the most comfortable bed I had slept in during my trip. The staff were helpful and friendly.
