Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

AustraliaThe hotel breakfast was a very typical style with nothing changing regarding these meals in 20 years even though Australian breakfasts have definitely evolved.
Pier One was in an excellent location with views of the harbour Bridge and an easy walk to the Rocks. Complementary drink vouchers were also a nice touch. Our package included parking and breakfast. The service was excellent with the parking and the staff was very helpful.

AustraliaWe paid for 'bridge view' but as our room was towards the south we only saw the pillars. The view the other way was better!
We had booked for the theatre and so it was a very convenient 5 minute walk to the Sydney Theatre Company. There were some restaurant choices nearby so that we easy. The Concierge parking was pricey but very convenient. We also enjoyed being close to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay - in fact we walked to the NSW Art Gallery in 40 minutes and took in an exhibit easily. The 11am check out was very civilised.

AustraliaThe shower was a tricky balance - enough water so you can wash the soap off, not so much that the bathroom floor floods.
The location was perfect for our needs. Close to the Rocks markets, Bridge Climb and Circular Quay. The room was spacious, the bed and pillows comfy, topped off with a lovely water view. Breakfast was superb, with delicious coffee, an egg chef and a full spread. The staff were excellent, even organising for us to leave our car there until we returned from the football in the late afternoon.
