We had been interested based on pictures of the large balconies with tree views but ours was smaller and had limited views. Maybe just check on booking if this is important.

Pool needed a clean

Did not like the spa bath in the main room and at floor level.....felt dangerous getting into.

TP is a wonderful host who goes out of his way to make the stay more pleasant!

Our room looked slightly dated, a slight refresh can certainly take it to the next level. The top windows in our room could do with blinds to keep the early morning light out for those who may want to sleep in a little. Also, the shower in our room was quite noisy, potentially plumbing issue - not a biggie but definitely worth looking into.

The noise from the neighbouring room (arguing) - out of owners control. This did dampen the feeling of being secluded. repairs and garden maintenance needed (back of property not front) to the areas that may have been damaged due to flooding or storms.

The ambiance and serenity of the location was lovely. the design of the bungalows made you feel secluded. loved breakfast on the balcony and at night with the moon light filtered through the tree canopy was truly beautiful. The on-site manager was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked perfectly.

Hubby and I one night to celebrate our anniversary and escape from our kids :) Gorgeous facilities. Felt like we were in Bali. Our room opened out into nature with huge doors. Manager offered us a beer to enjoy by the pool when we said we wished we brought some. We brought our bikes with us and when we wanted to go into town we parked our car down at the end of Skinners Shoot Rd next to the backpackers and rode into town and back from there, it worked well. The pool and deck chairs were great. Would recommend.

The only slight negative was that the rooms were slightly outdated, however they were clean and presented as expected in photos. Can't fault them here.

The service from TP was absolutely second to none. One of the best customer service experiences I've seen at a hotel in Australia in a long time

Cleanliness of room can be worked on as dust could be seen on things. As this is a 5 star rated place so expectations were high.

The view of the rooms were great! Not too far from the centre for eating spots. Pool area great as it offers a hot pool as well.

the shower was terrible kept loosing pressure every 30 secs and would come back on freezing. bed was a bit to hard. would be no good for an elderly couple or someone with mobility issues, the shower is in a spa bath which you have to step a long way down to get in it. room leaked to in heavy rain

The only thing I would recommend is upgrading the tv, it would've been good to have access to something like netflix to watch movies! I also didn't realise we had to walk to our room, carrying luggage to our room was a bit of effort up & down stairs.

The whole location of the retreat is beautifully secluded, peaceful and close to nature. We really enjoyed the spa bath and getting massages. The rooms were perfect, bed & pillows were comfy and there was heaps of privacy. T.P was really accomodating and friendly, his customer service was exceptional :) Would definetely come back here again!

if you are looking for a quite hideaway to relax and be one with nature azabu is the place for you. mark and his staff were an absolute pleasure and our room was just Devine. highly recommend and will definitely be back.

The complex is aging and there is evidence of rotten timber stairs and water damage to exterior doors. The rooms are very small and while there’s a spa in the room itself, it’s separated from the toilet. It is not easy to climb down into the spa and the shower over it splashes water into tiled areas which can’t drain.

The whole complex is situated at the end of a country road above Byron and the rooms are quite private from one another with outlook from the bed onto an old pine forest. The bed was very comfortable. There is a pool and heated spa next to reception

Cleaning was a little rushed prior to check in. room needed some indoor seating (only had outdoor on balcony).

The beds were a little harder than what I'm used to, but it was a small thing in an otherwise great stay.

The location of Azabu is perfect. It's just outside Byron but only a short drive and you're in the middle of the city. Staying out in the bush and having the amazing views from the balcony was one of my highlights.

Quiet, relaxed rooms in the middle of the forest. Very private and serene. Not far from Byron town by car but feels like the middle of nowhere. Staff are very friendly and you can have spa treatments on site. Great for a relaxing getaway on your own or a couple.
