How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I had trouble getting the keys from the lock box, Tim was very helpful but in the end he still had to come and let me into the apartment, as the Lock Box died ! So we had to wait till they arrived. The instructions needed to be clearer as to which knob to rotate clockwise for the door to open. Lucky this wasnt at night. Also, being of the older generation, getting your standard TV channels took 2 nights to work out.
Excellent location, comfy bed and reasonably quiet. Shower hot but did have a drip we couldnt stop.

When appliances such as a dishwasher & washing machine are supplied in the apartment, I would expect supplies for at least 2 or 3 cycles when staying for 6 nights

Two days of loud garden maintenance outside my window. Not sure if it was Ballantyne gardeners or the neighbouring property.

Lounge chairs were uncomfortable despite the cushion. Kitchen chairs were OK.
Property was very clean and in an excellent location. Kitchen was well equipped.

very noisy neighbours on both sides, could hear easily and our apartment was next to a lane/driveway which was noisy early morning due to shop owners. No fly wires so had a few bugs
close to all amenities and a short walk to shopping centre in Military road, easy bus access, very clean apartment and bed linen fresh and clean.

Ballantyne Apartments are very conveniently located to shops, and excellent and plenty of parking available in Ballantyne Street. Apartment was quite and spotlessly clean.

Got a bit confused at the start as I tried to use the box on the right hand side of the garage to get my key - then re-read the instructions that the lockbox was on the left. Might be good to put a note on that other box that this is not the lock box.

Maybe a bit small however there was 2 adults & 2 kids but perfect for a couple or a few days with a family.

The view of the back of another building, although as I was there for work, it didn't matter so much. Loved that it was quiet. Hated dragging the bag up the stairs on my own but managed.:)
I wish I'd had more time there to see the area, but may return ahead and this time, for recreation. The locked box was tricky to get into (especially given my long nails) - the tab I needed to pull down at the same time as openning the box was a little stiff but I got there in the end. Thank you for a great stay:)

We loved all the plants outside the property . Very well maintained. Easy access to the city . EV charger available at BP petrol station ( 100m )

I didn't like the fact that guests must empty the trash on exit, clean the shower after use and wash the dishes on exit. A serviced apartment does those things, not the guest.
The location is great. Nice and quiet and not far from anything.

An old block of apartments converted as cheaply as possible to short term accom. Photos are deceptive. We had Apartment #4. Try to avoid this one. Disgustingly dark, very small. No airflow. Damp and dank. Bathroom accessed through the wardrobe. Yes..it is bizarre. Toilet seat does not fit the toilet and falls to the side so rim is on your legs. No patio, even though listed with. They pretend to provide this at the front door with one seat and a small table, and the next door’s front door beside you. I could list many many more disappointments. But just don't stay here if you have other options.
Location is good with many shops on Avenue Road 1 min away.

There was literally nothing we didn't like. Could not fault this apartment. Would stay here again if visiting Sydney.
The apartment was clean and tidy with plenty of room for two adults and 2 children. The beds were amazing ( that is including the sofa bed ). The apartment was fitted out with everything you could possibly think of to make your stay comfortable. Great location with free on site parking, and a little grocery store just round the corner or an IGA a few minutes drive up the road for any supplies you may need.
