Great little location close to a nice creek trail walk. Very cosy cabin with many nautical trinkets. Very relaxing stay.

We loved the ambiance of the cottage, it has a cosy and homely feel. The cottage had a spa which was relaxing , kitchen with a stove and everything we needed to cook our own meals. The gas log fire added a great feel when it was cold outside. The upstairs loft bedroom is very roomy with stained glass windows and the bed is comfortable. There is also a laundry room that we had access to. Outside the gardens are beautifully maintained, there is an undercover area with bbq and outdoor table. Loved the fire dog (outdoor fire pit), which we used. There is a little creek that runs behind the property and a little foot bridge that takes you across to a walking track. We found it was close to everything that we needed, and the tourist attractions were not too far. Loved the little extras like board games, books and DVD’s, extra pillows and blankets.

The length of my stay!!! I would've liked to stay for a week.

The location is beautiful, the surroundings were lovely, waking to the birds amongst the trees was a great way to start the day. It felt like we were miles away from anywhere. The cottage is gorgeous, has everything you need for a weekend away, comfy bed and quality linen supplied.

I would have liked a small cooktop and a small bench space at basin, but neither of these details detracted from stay.

The Ballarat Cottages are charming. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and everything is good quality. The espresso coffee machine turned out a great cuppa. There were just nice touches in the cottage from good quality soap, crockery and linen to clean rooms and comfortable furniture. Good wifi reception. The views from the windows to the natural environment created a calming ambience and sitting by the stream was so relaxing. Wonderful to meet Heidi who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a great experience. Will definitely go back and stay again. Thank you

These comments are not intended as criticisms, but features that would improve the property. 1. Rail on the upper half of staircase. 2. Light above mirror.

The obvious effort by the hosts to make the accommodation pleasant and comfortable. The building and surroundings are quite unusual but very enjoyable. The accommodation was surrounded by a large external area which featured a gazebo and BBQ, a fully equipped laundry, garden ornaments, paving, trees and a creek. This outside area was well kept and contributed greatly to the enjoyment of our stay.

Really nothing to say - it's a little bit out of the city centre so you need a car, but that's a FYI rather than a criticism.

What a beautiful place! Everything you could wish for and more. Kitchen was well equipped, lots of lovely extras like a full bookshelf and board games, a bush setting that was just incredibly peaceful and beautiful. I could hole up here and never come out.

Ballarat Cottages has been a favourite stay of ours when in Ballarat. The property is located on quiet bushlands yet near the centre of town. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The one bedroom cottage is very comfortable and full of charm. For us, it is the ideal place to getaway and wind down.

Not a thing.

We originally googled quirky... and it was. We had the 2-bedroom original cottage with 2 queen beds, and I single. 2 toilets and 1 bathroom with spa. The gardens and birds were lovely. Went for a walk along the creek. Have an interest in very old big trees and visited many including The Tree of Knowledge at the uni. which needs more water as the buildings are sitting on its roots. Ballarat has some fabulous old trees. Still on the hunt for big trees, from Ballarat we then went out to Talbot and then Guilford on the way home. Went back twice to The Grape Pub. Lovely fresh food and great service. Arrived early on both occasions to get a table as they were very busy. Would love to come back again. to this cottage (and the pub.) It was very peacefully, quiet and relaxing. Both nights a possum took the short cut across our roof, but it didn't bother us and only made us laugh. Would love to return. Chris and Kim
