Some very strange noises coming from inside of the wall, street side. couldn't decide what it was until i had a look and saw the gas pipes on the wall outside. funny the sorts of noises you get when expansion and contraction due to the heat of the sun.

It was quite cold and the heat pump turned off when we left so it was cold when we arrived back. No front door light.

Jude (The manger) on the other hand was incredibly patronising pointing in the direction of Tanunda and stating 'Well you know the town is there don't you' when we asked for breakfast recommendations one morning. She was also incredibly unhelpful and patronising when I called prior to our stay with a challenging unexpected situation that we unfortunately found ourselves in. We have stayed at The Wine Vine previously in 2022 and couldn't wait to come back, but I would be put off returning if I knew that Jude was still the manager.

Lindy who works at reception is an absolute gem! She is so knowledgable, friendly and helpful. She had great recommendations for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Wineries, Wedding venues (as we are looking to get married in the Barossa!) and absolutely anything and anything there is to do in the area! Lindy honestly made the trip so enjoyable and is a credit to the team!

It was a good 20 minute walk into town but to an extent that was fine. However we had to walk it a couple of times per day, because we wanted to have a drink with our meal. It was just a wee bit far from where restaurants were. Just the one sink for dishes and personal care was a bit odd and the toilet was very small. However, these are design features from when the hotel was made so can't be helped.

Friendly manager. The room was spacious to spread out and the chairs were comfortable to sit in. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were good. The pressure in the shower was good.

Based on the price point, all good.

It is a place for good night sleep with basic things that you need. A bed, a bathroom, a TV. The room has been refreshed so it is a plus. Don’t expect too much as you get what you pay for. You can park the car right in front of the room, nice. It is clean, although it has a bit of smell but not too bad. It has some mosquito and bugs, but you are at the country side of Australia, it is normal and expected. On the second day, we received some clean towels and it is a plus. The bed was a bit soft for me but that’s a personal preference. The pillow is a bit too flat and I have to double it. The aircon has a bit of noise at night but all good. The door of the shower is hard to lock but it doesn’t really matter.

Not good signange on the street to find the motel when you are an older driver on your own in an unfamiliar town.Pleasant & comfortable once I could find the entrance in.

Just an odd one. Very little privacy available in the room. The toilet door has a latch to lock it from the inside when in use (like a public toilet) but there is no door handle so the toilet door swings open at all times when not in use. A toilet door should close when not in use to keep smells enclosed.

Comfortable bed and very clean room. Loved the Chinese restaurant attached to the motel, was a great way to have an easy and delicious meal. Very friendly and helpful staff.
