How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our room didn’t have a private outdoor sitting area/balcony
Location was brilliant. Didn’t need to drive anywhere during our stay! Everything we needed was within walking distance.

Parking is a bit limited. Villas are designed to be able to be separated into 3 separate accommodations or combined in various combinations, which is a great idea. But at first we were confused because it looked like someone was already in our villa. Queen size bed, not king-size. I arranged a late checkout through the Booking.com app and got a positive reply, but it was not actually relayed back to Bay Village. They knew nothing about it till they called me after the usual checkout time to check where our key was. Fortunately, they were still able to accommodate our request and didn't make us feel like it was a problem.
Villa was spacious very clean and well appointed. Central location is super convenient. Jess at the office was lovely, super helpful and friendly. I arranged a late checkout through the Booking.com app and got a positive reply, but it was not actually relayed back to Bay Village. Fortunately they were still able to accommodate our request and didn't make us feel like it was a problem.

1) No car park for this villa, parking is “first come first served” at the front of the property, a distance away from the villa. This needs to be addressed as when you pay the extra costs for a villa, there is an expectation that there will be parking at the villa. This is important for rainy weather, or bringing in groceries/purchases. 2) Spa bath needs a safety step to get in and out, particularly as the shower is in the spa. This is a hazard for older guests particularly.
Location is fantastic. Clean rooms, easy check in and out. Well appointed rooms. Spa bath.

We were in room 35 and there was no WiFi. Moved three rooms away on the balcony and had great WiFi and internet connection.
Great location, close to town centre. Room facilities good. Daily linen service appreciated.

It’s a little bit older now, decor dated, a little bit of wear and tear but nothing major.
It’s a nice but simple 2 bdrm villa. No frills, no fuss, pretty clean, but the beds were comfy enough, and the location is fantastic. Being able to walk 1 minute and be in town, or 3 minutes and be at the beach is incredible

The bed desperately needs changing, the mattress was sagging in the middle and made it very uncomfortable to sleep and we both woke up with sore backs.

The bottom room smelt like a dog was staying in there The air con up stairs leaked and was noted but not fixed Remote controls for tv and others only had batteries for 1 controller there are 4 controllers 5 minutes past check out and was rung up by reception to vacate the room while doing our final clean No key for cellar to store our expensive wine in climate controlled area.
