Need Better Mattresses. And I struggled to find someone that worked there at reception,(I understand people are busy)

The windows aren’t allowed to be opened so the room is a sweaty smelly oven, the stench of our roommates manky towel brought tears to my eyes, it would have been fine if we could air out the room but we weren’t allowed. I’d have breathed fresher air in a gorillas gooch. The beds were covered in stains and my friend even had a welcome gift of a Pringle on her bed. Apart from the cleaner the staff are just hostel stayers so don’t care about good service and we were left waiting a while to get into our room even though it was ready because the receptionist forgot we were waiting. Reception is poorly managed, they just played video games and loudly discussed how they had crapped their pants which wasn’t a very warm welcome. And to top it all off the wifi never worked for me and only worked badly after 24 hours for my friend. Beware of fake reviews for this place, so many are the same persons 10/10 review multiple times who probably worked there.

Arriving to a dirty room after traveling international and having to sleep on a dirty floor. Informing staff in the morning and being told I would get a refund only to not.. and have no one answer my multiple emails and enquires in to it. Cleaners not cleaning facilities till late in the afternoon. The bathrooms floors covered in hair and water (nothing provided to prevent slips, clean excess water away or anything dry to stand on. The apathetic staff.

I was extremely impressed with how Bayside house was operated, They have great staff and a bunch of friendly people there which made it a great atmosphere. Good amount of showers and bathrooms, a big kitchen and a big ”livingroom” where i was able to sit in the sofa and watch movies, play videogames. They also had a pool table which made my stay even better!

I arrived at this hostel at 7 pm - no one was at the reception and when I called and texted no one responded. At 8 pm got there a very mean lady who told me that she called me in the afternoon and wanted to check if I was coming. (I picked up the call but no one talked to me and after I hung up she didn’t call back again - how I was supposed to know that it was the hostel and not a spam call?) after this experience and the way how rude she talked to me I asked to see my room first before I pay - she refused, told me that she was there in her free time and isn’t paid for being there, she turned off the computer and told me that she’s not gonna accommodate me and left. Amazing experience.
