This hostel felt like a home away from home. So social, comfortable and welcoming! Thank you for your kindness, I had so much fun :) I definitely hope I can come visit again some day!

Very accessible facilities, clean toilets/showers, comfy beds in shared mixed dorms with curtains for privacy, lots of places to lounge and relax. Plenty of books and video games available, as well as a pool table and other game tables. The kitchen is fully equipped and kept clean regularly by staff. The staff was the best part of the experience- everyone is kind, funny, sociable, and laid-back. Lots of cool expeditions and activity suggestions provided, the team at Beachside Backpackers really is dedicated to making sure everyone has a great time passing through Port Mac. And of course, special shoutout to the mascot and sweetheart of the place: Chili!

No aircon in the bedrooms.

The friendliest hostel I’ve stayed in. You are welcomed in straight away. I was invited to the pub with everyone within minutes of arriving. Really feels like a home away from home.

It was a little hot during the nights, there were fans in the room, but for me it was hard to sleep.

Nice community hostel, vibes were good! Had to checkout at 11 am, but the greyhound bus departed at 1 am the next night, so luckily we could wait in the hostel!

We stayed in a private room and whilst there was a fan, air con would have been much better, especially with the hot days we had during our stay. As well, ever slight nick picking but down the one side of the bed it was quite tight and there was a big hanging circular shelving unit with a artificial plant on which I kept knocking off (the whole unit that is) as i tried to ger past..To avoid anything being damaged I'd just take this off and replace with a smaller picture.

This place is what I imagined a typical backpackers to look like when we first started our trip. Great atmosphere and a communal, hippy-esque vibe. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and plenty of activities and things to to keep you busy (games, pool table, retro games machine). The outside space is great, plenty of room to sit and eat tea together, plus another garden space on the other side of the property. The showers were also really modern which I didn't expect, with the bathrooms as a whole having the right level of modern facilities with edgy and recycled features. We also had Netflix in the room which we didn't expect, which was an added bonus. Overall we loved our couple of nights there and would stay again for sure if we were back in town!

Came in late and they wrote me in details how to get to my room, it was really easy and nice to just go to bed at 4 am and deal with the check in in the morning
