Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot much! The shower in the ensuite doesn't have a door so water floods onto the bathroom floor.
Unusual and fun accommodation designed and built by the artist owner. You will see some of his work on the walls as well as that of other artists. The whole set up was very comfortable with lots of room for the whole family, including separate bedrooms for our teenagers (bliss!). The master bedroom is huge and private and the whole location is lovely and quiet. The living area was great for family conversations (no tv - they are in the bedrooms) so we all listened to records on the record player instead. The record player was a massive hit with the kids who had never seen or operated one before. The location is within a working vinyard and we loved being in a rural setting (complete with goats and chickens outside) but just minutes from towns, pubs and shops. I really hope we have to opportunity to come back one day - this time for longer!

AustraliaI was overall quite pleased with my stay and couldn't find much to fault, some of the lighting was a bit fiddly and the heating was good but took a little bit to really kick in but aside from that I was very happy with my stay.
Spectacularly eclectic layout with a grand sense of entrance, felt like I was walking into a Roald Dahl book. The accomodation is self contained and comfortable, with plenty of space indoors and outdoors, as well as ample heating. The farm life just outside was a lovely touch too, with vineyards above and goats below.

AustraliaI cannot fault this little gem.
Both Angus and I are regular travellers both for work and leisure so have experienced many varied accomodation. This place blew our minds! It is a rare piece of artwork. Stylish, quirky with attention to detail I’ve rarely encountered. Yet it retained a cosiness so we felt cocooned and comfortable. The host Andrew (the designer and builder) was attentive to everything we could want with hearty breakfast provisions and a warm welcome. Even the goats made us feel welcome and we had quite a chat to them in the mornings! It was immaculately clean, there are TVs and DVDs, a wood fire for colder nights and even an old stereo with real Vinyl records. The view over the vines is beautiful and the comfortable bed lured us to have afternoon naps after dining locally at a winery or three.

AustraliaIf only the Watervale Hotel was 2km closer...
From floor to ceiling this gorgeous bespoke B&B has surprises (& laughs!) around every corner. Thoroughly loved exploring every room. Soooo many great points (view over the vineyards, wood fire, rustic kitchen, amazing breakfast provisions etc) but the HMV radiogram, with the eclectic vinyl collection, was an absolute pleasure. Thank you Andrew & Carolyn for such a memorable experience.

AustraliaThe property was further from Clare than expected, you will have to drive to hire any bikes for the Riesling Trail.
This was an amazing property to spend a weekend away. It was modern inside but with a cosy and quirky feel creating a unique experience. The rolling vineyards provided a beautiful outlook to sit on the back patio enjoying wine and the fire. Andrew and Carol were lovely hosts, nothing was too much of an issue, their breakfast basket provided had everything and more from juice, cereals, jams, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and bread! We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend away.

AustraliaWe were a family of 5 adults that travelled to Claire Valley for a weekend of food and wine. It was ideally located. Andrew and Carolyn went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect including lighting the fire prior to our arrival. We enjoyed listening to LPs on the record player and toasting marshmallows on the fire pit after having a BBQ. The pet goat Luna and sheep Moos were also enjoyed. A perfect location set in a vineyard
