How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is a fair distance from the cbd so a car is necessary for transport

Very overpriced. Also room allocated to me had the carpets cleaned previous day and the furniture was not put back in place which was disappointing

Overwhelming smell of air freshener in the room meant that we had to open the windows even though it was 15 degrees. The bed had that roll into the middle feeling.
Under cover parking is good and there is an elevator up to the rooms. Kitchenette had crockery, cutlery, etc.

There were no instructions in the room regarding ordering breakfast, and although advertised as having cable tv we couldn't figure it out. There were no instructions as to how to use the TV and Netflix/Prime etc were only available if we already had an account that we could log into.
It was good to have the second bed in the room, so that one of my grandbabies could stay with me. The staff were very helpful e.g. on the first morning I called reception to ask about ordering breakfast (I couldn't find anything in the room about it) and was told it should be ordered the night before, but that they would bring it up for us, and they did.

Not much wrong with this joint, Old Faithful. To list anything here would just be me being picky and overly particular. It's all good.
Have been staying here for many years, through 3 changes of management/ ownership. The current one is the best of the lot. First visit with new owners last week. Receptionist saw on his screen that I was a regular and, without even telling me so as to sweeten the surprise, comped me a full-size suite instead of my base-level standard room. With jacuzzi if you don't mind. Very pleasantly surprised indeed.

The room was large and very clean. It had a small table and chairs and a small lounge. While all the rooms are upstairs, there is a small lift to access rooms. There is also a laundry on site. Please see reception. We found all staff to be pleasant and extremely accommodating.

Nothing springs to mind.
Staff were friendly & really helpful. Room was quiet, spacious, clean & comfortable. Had a desk, with lamp I could work from. Loved having a couch I could relax on & watch some TV, as I haven't done that for a while! I stayed an extra night, to give myself an opportunity for 'time out'. Loved having the pool to myself on a sunny Sunday arvo, was very relaxing.

We weren’t given the correct room so we overpaid it was not the properties fault and booking.com will not refund our overpayment

The directions. The Motel is in Strathdale, not Bendigo, as stated in your information. We spent a considerable amount of time trying to find the Motel because of this.

I don’t like the fact that they use a winter weight doona wrapped between two top sheets in the middle of summer! The air temperature outside was 35-38C ! This made it necessary to run the A/C on high! Not environmentally sound! Why not have a cotton blanket for summer use???? Very uncomfortable sleeping under a synthetic doona in high summer in Australia.

I would have like extra towels.
the room was clean, everything was nicely presented, and the pool was right outside our room. liked we had access to Netflix and we could use the pools late at night and sit outside. (amazing set up)
