How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There seemed to be a buck’s party or boys’ weekend on our floor that was noisy on the Saturday night but a very easy stay otherwise.
The location was ideal, close to cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the Queen Victoria Markets.

It was very quiet the guests were considerate and not a lot of foot traffic outside. Great location if you don’t mind a 10-15 walk to Elizabeth street. Only 5 min walk to the markets.

The only complaint that we had was that the bathroom didn’t seem to have a fan, so after a shower it was very foggy and took a long time to dry back up.
The two staff members I interacted with were extremely polite and helpful. Very happy and nice to talk to. Our room was upgraded from a queen bed to a king bed which was a lovely suprise. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was a good size and looked exactly like the pictures online. The location was great and very easy to get to and from

Too much air freshener which can trigger an allergic reaction and/or asthma.
Excellent comfy mattress and pillows, very quiet, very clean, window that opens for fresh air, great location and welcoming staff.

It was location in a very convenient location next to Queen Victoria Markets and a tram stop nearby within the Free Tram Zone. It was within walking distance to a few resturants and a 10-15 min walk to the CBD. The amenties were exceptional, the bathroom (whilst slightly cramped) was clean and very nice. The beds were really comfortable and enjoyed a good night's rest.

Second time was over the Formula 1 weekend and they were full, so we got one towel that had stains on it, and it was too late to change as reception was closed. But otherwise no complaints.
3rd time back here, great location and very comfortable beds.

absolutely astounding property- super clean in all aspects! (the staff even popped in when we were out one day and cleared out a couple of boxes with trash etc inside). made it so easy for me to conduct my entire trip, allowed baggage drop off and storage- before and after my stay- which made my life so much easier. vending machine downstairs in case you need some pick me up snacks and super cheerful staff who were always happy to help me to the best of their abilities!!! I would absolutely- and will absolutely- be booking again, such great value for money also, nice compact and neat accomodation a stone’s throw from everything. I didn’t catch a single Uber while in Melbourne thanks to this. thank you staff and owners!

We came from SA for the Taylor Swift concert. Unfortunately the price was highly increased due to high demand.

A second chair in the room would have been nice. We had a nice large room that would accommodate a second chair very easily. The bathroom was a large "wet room", so having a shower usually resulted in a fair amount of water being splashed around. An elevated place for clothing while showering would have been appreciated.
What breakfast? We didn't sign up for any! But there are plenty of nearby places for eating, and the famous Melbourne Free Tram stops a convenient 5 or so minutes away. Our room, set up for people with mobility issues was fine. All the staff that we met were very pleasant, and we were impressed with the way that someone was usually on hand to have the front door open for us to come and go as we approached it.

If you wanted to heat food there was no access to a microwave anywhere. Waiting outside in 39degrees before check in time. Hanging clothes on the wall with coat hangers provided as not closest.
The locations was great. Room was was very clean and very comfortable. People could not gain entry without a card especially during the night.

It is a little far out from the main city centre, but easily accessible via the Melbourne tram lines. Plenty of parking if you are driving around.
Location was close to Queen St Market, had some great fresh produce and lively atmosphere on the weekend.
