The expense is little high, but because we, as a family had an amazing time. We feel it was worth it. Expensive fuel - firewood.

We loved the homely feeling, the amazing staff and the property itself and animals.

Providing bedroom slippers would be good since the floor is dirty and dusty in a farm. Minor renovations recommended for toilet.

Peaceful and comfortable stay. The cabins are spacious and well-heated. Lovely to wake up to the sound of birds and horses and cows roaming near our cabins. Shoutout to the owner Bruce and gang for organising insightful sessions for us: whip cracking, boomerang throw, damper-making, all of which were great for families with young kids! Our toddlers thoroughly enjoyed the animal feeding sessions as well. Our morning walk to the gnomes cave was fun too!

The beds were a little uncomfortable but it didn't affect our sleep. We still had a great time during our stay.

Beautiful sunrise and sunset every day, amazing view. It's refreshing and connects you with nature. The steak at the restaurant was delicious, couldn't resist ordering it for two consecutive dinner and got my partner to try it too. Kids love the animal feeding sessions, kept talking about it endlessly.

Felt it was a little overpriced for the cabins, which are in need of maintenance. It's very noisy as it's right next to the highway. Communication prior to arrival was poor. Enquiries sent through both booking.com & their own website weren't acknowledged or responded to.

It's a different kind of accomodation & the free activities on offer were fun. There was enough to do to keep the kids busy & get a little experience of farm life. Cabin was clean & situated with a nice view of the creek. Horse riding activities were very reasonably priced.

It would be lovely if a coffee machine was purchased please, even a simple domestic one, for the visitors to make our own coffees or for this to be used by the kitchen when making cappuccinos as the current ones as per the menu are not worth $4.50. We couldn’t drink ours. We stayed in a cabin, and unfortunately the 2 single beds were not comfortable as they slouched deeply in the middle so I came away with quite a sore back. The kitchen lino and bathroom tiling needs to be replaced because even if it is well cleaned between stays, the flooring is very old, dirt stained (which makes it look unhygienic even if very sterile and clean) and many of the small tiles are cracking due to age. My daughter cut her foot on a tile that cracked under, while she brushed her teeth. I’m sure they attended to repairing the broken tile asap upon our departure as we mentioned to Elise and she was thankful to know about it. The fridge/freezers should be routinely inspected between stays as we found ours quite dirty on arrival (but it didn’t bother us too much as long as it was in good working order and kept our food chilled!) It would be nice if the sofa bed in cabin 6 was replaced as it’s starting to look a little worse for wear. The queen bed is a little bit creepy as it has a “mirrored ceiling” and our imagination wondered how it may have been used in its hey day. Others who had stayed in that cabin actually mentioned it to us lasking if it was still there and they shared similar sentiments. They joked it looked like it was part of a porno scene - perhaps it’s time for that to go as that is somewhat embarrassing.

We absolutely loved the horseriding lessons and trail rides, which we booked practically every day for our 5 night stay. A favourite daily past time was animal feeding, and of course the damper-making. It was very hospitable of the team to help us all make damper and then have freshly made butter and golden syrup available for everyone to enjoy with their hot billy teas. Seeing all of the animals roam the hills of the property with horses on your front yard is definitely a highlight. The creek was full so our family loved rock hopping, swimming, having a swing, yabbie fishing and taking our dogs for walks and swims. Being able to bring our fur babies was truly a plus and means we want to return knowing they are with us and get to enjoy our holiday with us without the worry and expense of booking them into pet accommodation. We explored the mountain following the well-worn 4wd track to the peak of the ridge in our Toyota Prado. The sunset view was spectacular (1 hour return trip so don’t leave without planning to arrive home before dark - and don’t go if it looks like it will rain). The swimming pool is great as the weather was hot when we stayed so it made for much needed refreshment. Our 2 young children aged 5 and 8 were made to feel very much a part of the family, which made them feel a million bucks and gave them so much confidence and a sense of belonging and pride. Thank you for this gift. Absolutely nothing was too much for the staff to accomodate; we often requested meals of hot veges (not on the menu) and Elise would cook this up for us as the last dine-in customers of the night. Donna was gorgeous and so kind to our girls. I would love to spend time with Elise as she is just such lovely company- a dependable honest well spoken lady and mother of 4 great children. All of the meals cooked on the premises were delicious, with good portions and prepared quickly. The slushie machine and well stocked icecream freezer was truly a hit!

There was only one thing that we didn't like. While the cabin had effective air con in the living room the bedrooms needed ceiling fans or air cons, especially as it was Summer & very humid.

So peaceful & healing being immersed in nature including the farm animals like huge, friendly dairy cows on the back steps of our cabin, pretty horses frolicking around the paddocks and stunning peacocks strutting around; local wildlife such as kookaburras, cockatoos & goannas ; masive gums; soothing running creek; and striking sunsets!!! Feeding the different kinds of animals; learning to milk a cow; making, cooking & eating delish damper; learning the challenging skills of cracking a whip & throwing a boomerang; and being like big kids trying out the old fashioned, self-propelled play equipment were all super fun activities!!! These activities were repeated and a handy schedule provided so you could choose when to attend. Over 4 days it was so relaxing to sit on the large verandas on three sides of the main homestead to enjoy an excellent meal from their restaurant or a refreshing drink from the bar or just take in the gorgeous view. Both inside & outside the homestead there were most wonderful collections of memorabilia which we loved taking in! eg teapots, toys & clocks indoors and ploughs, tools & carriages outdoors. The 2 bedroom cabin was spacious and very comfortable with great facilities and a lovely back deck to drink in the atmosphere. Facilities were provided to have a bbq or make your own fire. The delightful, historic Maryvale Pub was less than 10 minutes drive away and we had an enjoyable dinner there one night and returned the next night to see the entertaining live band called Methane on New Year's Eve which played familiar old rock from the 70's & 80's. Also we spent one day at the Darling Downs Zoo which was just the right size; had lots of informative talks & feedings with great photo opps; and show cased a number of big cats including the rare & exquisite African white lions.
