Big Brook Retreat is a beautifully appointed cottage on a lovely property. It is in a great location to see the local attractions. The owners, Libby and Darren, are delightful people and couldn't do enough for us.

A ceiling fan in the bedroom would have been beneficial, as the weather was still quite warm.

Beautiful location and gardens . Lovely outlook to sit and enjoy our breakfast. The information book gave lots of ideas of places to visit on our stay . The whole villa was tastefully decorated. Local fresh milk in the fridge, with a supply of tea and coffee.

The only issue we found was that there was no air-conditioner or fan in the bedroom and the first night was quiet warm which made sleeping a little uncomfortable. The second night was cooler so much better.

The cottage was beautiful, cosy and very well presented. The amenities, including the coffee machibe, bbq and outdoor area were great. The attention to detail was fantastic right down to providing the kitchen basics which we always forget. I would highly recommend this accommodation. We will definitely be back for a winter retreat.

I wish it wasn’t 9,000 miles away from my house.

Perfect location, tranquil and magical. Incredibly relaxing, beautiful grounds and loads of wildlife to see. The rooms were very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Darren the owner was helpful and very pleasant. Pemberton is very pleasant, but, in truth, we would have been quite happy just staying at the retreat and enjoying the idyllic surroundings.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this lovely property.

We found the chalets to be very nice and well appointed. All areas were extremely clean and the country decor was delightful with many homely little touches like the chocolates on the bed upon arrival and generous coffee/tea facilities. Libby and her husband made us very welcome and had time for a chat which makes the guests feel at home. I would certainly recommend staying at Big Brook Retreat as our expectations were certainly exceeded.

I only wish I'd booked for a longer stay!

The location was excellent overlooking the forest. The wisteria was in bloom outside our cottage and this combined with the blue wrens and other birdlife made for a tranquil setting.

One toilet, no window ,separate from shower and wash faculties .

Setting amongst beautiful vegetation where many small finches honey eaters and parrots came to feed. Exceptionally clean, well appointed accommodation. Next door to an avocado farm and our host was so welcoming and have us free avocados.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Big Brook Retreat, the cottage was wonderful, very clean, the facilities were all great, loved the little extras like the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner etc...very nice touch. The huge king size bed was really comfortable, and the bird life and gardens are amazing. The owners are lovely people, would highly recommend staying here.

We loved the privacy and seclusion of the cottage. The cottage was immaculately clean and well appointed. Libby and Darren were fabulous hosts. Very helpful with great local knowledge.

There was nothing we didn’t like, it was pretty perfect for our requirements, including provided slippers and gowns. The only suggestion I would make is for a sun lounger or two to really be able to lay back and enjoy those beautiful surroundings.

This was one of our favourite accommodations on our tour of WA’s South West Edge! For couples who enjoy peace, relaxation and beautiful surroundings, stay here! The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and nicely furnished. My favourite part was being able to open the French doors onto the patio and sit out and watch the myriad of birds visiting the garden from the surrounding forest. The view of Big Brook forest from the patio was beautiful. We were able to walk around most of the grounds and gardens of the owners property & experience the bird life and sounds. It was wonderful actually!

We are big people and used to a kingsize bed, but bed and linen were very comfortable and we slept well.

So many extra thoughtful things - cooking oil, glad wrap, baking paper, foil, sanitary bags, recycling was easy, nice equipment in kitchen, coffee machine, nice bed linen and seats (with cushions) outside. Peaceful and gorgeous birds! Hosts were really lovely people!
