Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumVery warm welcome by the many, beautiful birdsongs and super friendly hosts. Kudos to them for how they transformed the place. The owner Dan made time to give us a tour of the property with all the necessary info about birds and wildlife spotting for later that evening. A good tip for a picnic in the evening: Salmon Beach, just 18km away.

United KingdomRemember this is a quiet out of the way place so not a lot going on around it if you want entertainment you'll need to drive somewhere. The ensuite shower was a bit weak and the room a bit dark but then we did choose the cheapest room and it is the last room to be refurbed, so that's our fault for being stingy!
A gem waiting to be discovered and thoroughly unexpected by us when we booked. Peaceful and out of the way location just off the highway and, as the name suggests, a haven of bird song. More of a traditional B&B than a hotel/motel. Clean, comfortable and well stocked - port wine on arrival! Small and boutique each room is different and look out onto the garden and down to the creek. If you are patient and quiet the wildlife come out to play. Breakfast and dinner is available as an extra. Breakfast to order at a time to suit you and dinner the same but is usually what the owners are eating plus a few other simple choices. Tina is a fabulous cook. The owner, Dan, treated us to a drive up to waterfalls in the bush only locals know about which was a really special treat. Highly recommended for short or longer stays.

AustraliaDaniel and Lisa were excellent, and generous hosts. Daniel knew lots about the local fauna and flora. We saw more native birds, animals and plants during our stay than there is the space here to list. Among other things he took us for drive up into the hills behind the property to visit two exquisite waterfalls and see some more animals, after which he drove us over the Pacific Hwy all the way to the mouth of the Snowy river. We had an English cousin with us, and could not have dreamt up a more sensational introduction to some Aussie bush to give her.
A perfect arrangement. We brought the simple breakfasts we like along with us while Daniel and Lisa supplied us with the crockery, cutlery etc. we needed without our even having to ask.

AustraliaThe king bed or large queen was two beds together so we slept on separate beds, or laid "in the ditch" which wasn't good for backs/closeness. Had we known this when booking we would have chosen a bed with one mattress.
Beautiful location, and plenty of local information from our host. It's wonderful that they aim to keep this a quieter sanctuary without children (albeit children make holidays great too!) Very respectful of our time and keen to remind us to relax, which I valued! Warm and inviting room and amenities, beautiful position and lovely views front and back of property. Rooms comfortable, space for hanging clothes, small fridge, bbq, windows and fly screens, and AC/heater available. Lush gardens with a variety of birds chattering all day which was lovely to hear, and watch or feed them. Tranquil, lots of trees to provide shade if you wanted to sit out and relax. I would love to spend a couple of weeks to detox/unwind/unload/relax! A nice location with small townships 20-40 mins away, great for visiting beaches, nature parks, lovely roads for motorbike touring, and would be ideal for keen cyclists with all the trails.

AustraliaThe hot water system is a little bit quirky, but nothing unmanageable, particularly if you’re aware of it.
It’s called Birdsong for a VERY good reason- the bird chorus was incredible and probably the most diverse we’ve heard in a long time of travelling! The place itself is beautiful and comfortable; host very welcoming and generally a lovely human. Wish we stayed longer

AustraliaThe main light in the room is very gloomy. It would be much better if was brighter.
Great location, and feels in tune with nature. We woke up to bird calls which was a pleasant surprise coming from the hustle of the city. There are platypuses as well, but unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to see one. The host is very gracious. A large variety of birds on the property so definitely recommended for any avid bird enthusiasts.

SwitzerlandNothing. It was a perfect spontaneous stay. We love Bird Songs and we highly recommend it.
We got a warm welcome from the owner, Dan who showed us around the building and the property. His backyard is open to guests and surrounded by lush vegetation and a creek. Perfect for wildlife spoting. If you love birds, platypus, wombats, bandicoots, sugargliders and possums it is the place to be. It was a beautiful evening and morning accompanied by the many birdsongs around us. The queensize bed was comfortable and everything including the ensuit toilet, shower and even the little privat veranda was clean. Dan was a really nice guy, fun to talk to and even gave us a little wildlife spotting tour.
