How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very comfortable place on the doorstep of the Blue Mountains. The host has gone above and beyond to provide you with everything you could need, was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and treats supplied were a very lovely touch and much appreciated. Nice private garden for 2yo son and dog to run around too.

We loved our stay at this lovely accommodation. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of storage and it was very clean and well presented. The extra supplies for breakfast were very welcome.

May be difficult for those with mobility issues due to back of house location and acess via a pebble path .
Very clean and attention to detail such as fresh flowers . Linen was hotel quality . Private location including enclosed garden and covered outdoor area . Host very friendly and helpful . Provided specifically requested milk and decaf tea . Quiet location . Close to the train station and shops .

Lounge & kitchenette were very "compact" for a wet weekend.

Items provided for continental breakfast were excellent and included a loaf of fresh baked bread and plenty of coffee pods. The backyard was safe and perfect for our border collie. All facilities were clean worked great. The suite is in a very quiet street but only a short walk to the centre of town.

Everything. Suzie, the host was amazing. So accommodating for both us and our pet dog. We all had the most amazing time. The room was equipped with so many things. Even a fully loaded picnic basket and rug. Loved how clean and tidy the place was and to have a backyard for the dog with doggy door access was fantastic. The beds were comfortable and having the second bedroom meant the snoring party had somewhere to go.

It is worth noting that the third bed would be small for an adult and the second bedroom space quite tight for two people. Depending on your meal plans, also note that there is limited preparation space in the kitchenette and the bbq is the only stove option. It would be worth consulting Suzie about the kitchen equipment if you want to cook, as you might need to bring extra items with you. If you're not a fan of coffee capsules, bring a plunger.
A friend and I spent 2 nights in this beautifully presented small apartment. We really appreciated the luxury linen and general comfort and garden surroundings, as well as use of the carport, as there is limited parking space in front of the main house. We didn't need to use the car during the weekend festival as the walk to the village was pleasant for people of moderate fitness. The apartment is quiet and totally private. The continental breakfast provisions were varied and plentiful. Suzie is very responsive and quite happy to be flexible about arrival and departure times.

Everything worked and the kitchen was compact but workable. The bathroom cabinet did tend to get in the way when brushing teeth.
Very close to centre of Blackheath. We tried the Ivanhoe bistro, which was friendly but bot noteworthy. SilkThai was inexpensive and tasty although the degree of chilli was set for western tastes. Electric blankets more than compensated for the cool nights. Sue, the owner, was very helpful and friendly.
