How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very small, but we did have 3 adults and 2 kids! We all fit in but it did feel a bit cramped. Other than that, was lovely

The only down side is that there is only one bathroom for six people and it would have been nice to have more toiletries in the bathroom (there was only one body wash, shampoo and conditioner). Otherwise no other dislikes.
The location was great and the apartment was very quite, spacious, clean and well equipped. It was great to have secure parking. The apartment is within walking distance to the centre of town, the beach and restaurants. We received clear and timely instruction with respect to accessing the apartment. We will be returning in the future.

It’s needed a good clean, dust on windowsill in twin room, needed a clean on floor around washing machine and fridge, cobweb in main room near built in robe, no tea or coffee but had milk?

The location is amazing - a stones throw from multiple great beaches, coffee and the town centre. Ease of access was great with the door codes, and communication was very good.

Having to enter the door code twice to get in. It took a while to cotton on to this but I was eventually assisted and advised by a person from another unit to enter the number twice.

No extra bedding available in case of accidents, but this wouldn’t stop us from booking again. We’d just be more prepared next time. Great place.
Such a great space for families. Easy walk into the Main Street for us, but we also like to walk. Secure carpark under the building was great for wet weather and packing/unpacking the car, but also street parking available for quick drop in and out. We loved all the facilities and having our own courtyard out the back. Only negative for us was there was no extra linen and so it meant that we needed to wash over night and dry bedsheets (due to child accident). It would have been handy to have a spare set available.

Most of the property was clean, but there was some unvacuumed areas. We did find 3 live cockroaches in the lounge area and bathroom. Some of the towels and linen were a little stained. I assumed we could watch Netflix on the tv but the tv was older model.
Location of property is perfect. Everything in walking or short car drive away. The property was great to stay in, spent all day out and about and came back in the evenings to clean up and relax. Was pleasantly surprised to have nice hot showers available for all 4 of us. Beds were comfy.

Could have been a little cleaner. Couch and in particular the bunk beds were uncomfortable. Not enough provisions of toilet paper/ bin liners/ dish washing supplies for our 5 night stay. They did resupply when asked however.
Location was superb and overall it was a good stay.

The kitchen didn't have any storage for pantry items and the fridge is bar size which is challenging for a larger family/longer stay. Luckily the weather was fine and we could eat outside and keep our food on the main table and we had an esky which we used for drinks. I would love to see some plastic cups and plates for small children.
You can't beat the location of this apartment. Easy walk to Surf beach and the main street. Apartment was amazing, clean and quiet. Secure underground parking is so helpful in Kiama over Christmas/New Year. Fantastic building, Would stay here again.
