Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. AustraliaPleasant, clean studio, although it would benefit from some smaller touches. For example, it needs a coffee machine or plunger, it’s hard to get fresh air unless the blinds were up (so hard to rely on aircon), the shower took 4-6mins to get hot water, and they were stingey on the body wash and shampoo/conditioner (i.e. they provided 40ml body wash and 40ml of a ‘conditioning shampoo’ for two people for a three-night stay). Note, they deduct a $280 bond on arrival from credit card, I’ve been told to wait up to 7days to get back- which is annoying.
Great location, clean, with basic facilities.

United KingdomI didn't realize one machine was as dehumidifier and I should have had that on. I would next time pick a suite that was higher up in the building.
Location was good for cafe's and eventually I found open dinner places. About 20 minutes from Bondi Beach and one bus to downtown. Nice decor -- all white and fresh. There was a washer and dryer (and a dishwasher).

United KingdomThe position, feels like you are in a cellar and because of the bins and people coming to put their rubbish in the bins, felt like you had to keep the blinds closed.
A little disappointed in the fact that the entrance and window for the apartment is in the bin area for the other apartments, some smell as you enter the apartment. It is easy access for Bondi Road and near some cafes and take always, the apartment it’s self is clean and modern.

AustraliaI chose Bondi Suites because of its location and the photo on booking.com. The reality is a little different. Met by the manager Eli who showed us through some fire doors, down a flight of stairs and into a basement, right next to the bins and the water butts and a very unsightly drain. Not what we expected. See photo. It rained on our last night. The drops of rain on a perspex roof just outside our door were so loud we could not sleep all night. It was not pleasant. When I complained to Eli, first he feigned he hadn't seen the emails, then he said he had never had a complaint like that before ( there is always a first time ) and finally he said he was only the manager so could not decide on a requested reimbursement. I was polite and fed back nicely but he was nothing short of evasive and dismissive. Sometimes it is not only about making money from a crappy property but also admitting that you did not provide the best experience to your customers. Sadly he was not even able to do that.

AustraliaLack of basics such as tea towel, hand soap, clean cutlery and pans. The smell of mould was unbearable at times, there was visible attempts to stop the mould but more needs to be done. Coming home on holiday to pungent odour such as that is not pleasant, and also potentially harmful.
Location was excellent, as was the building and surrounding shops. We felt safe at the property.
