Shared house situation. Bed was three mattresses stacked on top of each other. Bedding was inadequate.. ...no towels in outside shower.. Outside toilet was previously used and not cleaned and door wouldnt close properly.. room was musty and no natural light as window was boarded up. Only positive it was 10 minutes walk to boxhill..

I have never stayed in such a place before. In the past I have stayed in some pretty awful motels in South America and South Africa, but this was the worst by far. We arrived at the Box Hill destination, and luckily there were two Chinese students staying there who spoke with Lucy, the owner, on my phone in Chinese, as apparently Lucy's English is not good. We were redirected to another address in Doncaster Road Balwyn some 20 minutes drive away. We were greeted by a man who spoke little English, I believe he is Chinese, who showed us our room and gave us the key. The bathroom had a toilet and was at the end of a corridor, so shared, there was no sink, and no mirror. The shower supply pipes were 'jury rigged' through the window, and the door opened inwards making it very difficult to close once in the shower. Luckily I am not large.The only sink was the kitchen one, again shared. No mirror in the bedroom, and the room was filthy. There was some kind of white powder on the floor under the window, looked like dandruff bit I didn't Investigate. It was horrid. The curtains and light fitting were festooned with spider's webs. The lock on the bedroom door was a small padlock, and on the inside a flimsy bolt held on by two screws was the only form of lock. Then there was a loud insistent knocking at the door, and the man who showed us the room asked me to come with him. He took me to the refrigerator, and spoke into his phone that did a translation into English, asking me if I had touched thew fridge or anything in it. I said 'No' and started to walk away, and he spoke into his phone again, and it said 'There is surveillance'. I said good, and walked back to my room, he did coma and say sorry later. I could go on, but there is no point, just avoid this place please. It should be removed from the Booking.com listing.

The door to go outside to room 6 can be locked accidentally...we had to knock to get another guest to open it else we would have been locked out! Great value, very clean! :-)

The house was not clean, kitchen was greasy and not enough (dry) towels. Floors throughout the house had not been cleaned before us. Not enough blankets, and heaters did not make a difference

EVERYTHING. IT WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING SHARED HOUSE IVE EVER SEEN. IT REEKED WITH CIGARETTE SMELL. THE “PRIVATE ROOM & BATHROOM” WE BOOKED WAS UNHYGIENIC LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE WHERE EVERYONE IS OUTSIDE SMOKING & DOING WHATEVER. WHEN WE ARRIVED A DRUNK COUPLE WAS VIOLENTLY ATTACKING EACH OTHER. TEXTED TH OWNER OF THIS BOOKING AND NO REPLY WAS GIVEN WE DID NOT STAY THE TWO NIGHTS WE PAID AND WE DEMAND A REFUND!
