Braeside Retreat was such a beautiful property, a secret getaway tucked from the rest of the world. The room / cabin was extremely cozy and so well thought out, every single detail was so well planned and done amazingly. Amenities were great!

The Gardners Cottage was wonderful! We had the fire going at night and it was just the right size to feel cozy with the whole family while still feeling spacious. The owners were great and very helpful with all of our needs and the kids loved feed sign the Alpacas in the mornings! We highly recommend!

Beautiful cottage. Lovely big bedroom with comfy bed. Bathroom well provisioned. Kitchen and sitting area very cosy and warm. Generous breakfast with eggs from hens on the property. We were even given a dozen as a leaving gift! Fresh bread on arrival. Andrew a most welcoming host and nothing too much trouble. His attention to detail is rare. This is a jewel in the Macedon Ranges and we will be back.

Braeside is our type of getaway!  The beautiful gardens were showing amazing autumn colours for our stay and we loved  the rustic country charm of The Barn.  If you love gardens, animals  and birds as I do, this is idyllic.   In addition to the delightful setting, The Barn has high quality comforts to make the stay feel special.  The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was amazing.  The  L’Occitane toileteries made showers a real sensory experience.  Lovely thick, large towels with an extra towel for hair- these little touches are what make this a 5* experience .  Andrew is a wonderful host who knows how to make his guests feel welcome and comfortable.  His experience shows in the quality of this accommodation.  Like everything else, the breakfast provisions were all you could ask for.  Ideally located to visit gardens, wineries and scenic walks ….we had a most enjoyable stay and highly recommend Braeside for a relaxing getaway.

We loved absolutely everything about Braeside! Andrew was by far the best host we have ever come across. The breakfast provided was amazing. The smell of freshly baked bread greeted us when we entered the Barn and the fridge was well stocked with fresh produce. The bed was super comfy as were the pillows and the toiletries were great quality. All our needs were catered for inside the Barn and outside. There are two Ilamas on the property and Andrew supplied us with food to go and feed them which was a real treat. There are also ducks , plenty of bird life, chooks and lots of kangaroos that were grazing morning and night just outside our door . Such a great Aussie scene! A fire pit was setup all ready to go but we didn’t use it. We will next time because there will definitely be more trips to this little slice of paradise. Cannot recommend highly enough! Andrew is a lovely bloke that goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Just go!

    Nothing to fault!

Where do I start? Our weekend at Braeside truly exceeded our expectations - it was the perfect quaint yet comfortable getaway. From the moment we arrived we felt at home in the warm inviting environment. The Barn cottage was perfectly suited for our family with plenty of room, a well stocked kitchen, dining room and clean/comfy bedrooms. The beds and linen were of high quality - better than most hotels. Hats off to the host Andrew for a number if things - not only a friendly & welcoming man but he was amazing at accommodating our young daughter, there was a cot and highchair were set up for our arrival, and each day he dropped off a bucket of feed so we could visit/feed the friendly Alpacas. Additionally the breakfast goodies supplied were another level - the freshly baked bread the highlight closely followed by the jam, butter, yoghurts, coffee selection and amazing granola. We didn't need to leave the property - everything we need was there. What a lovely stay - we will be back!

Wifi is weak in the bedroom. Small bathroom. Suggest to put antislip mat for safety.

Quiet and cosy, it's a place to relax and chill. The host is very friendly and suggested places to visit. Good fireplace that keeps the rooms warm. Bacons and eggs for self cooked breakfast are great.

Had quite a few spiders, especially sitting in lounge area and on couch. Also other bugs coming in from under the doors, no screens on doors so not able to leave them open.

Friendly host, beautiful breakfast supplied. Wood for fire provided. Quiet, serene and gardens were lovely to walk in.
