How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Like 5 parking spaces available, the balcony’s were a bit cluttered with people’s shoes and washing just scattered everywhere and my locker in the room was over the side of someone else’s bed
Very very clean, good layout with a lot of privacy, bed had plugs right beside and a personal light + private bathroom and shower in the room was great. Also a great kitchen but on the smallish side considering the amount of people are there

No windows in the dorm can open so it’s very stuffy to sleep in. The kitchen closes at a certain hour which I wasn’t aware of until too late.
Really appreciated the good service and community feel in the dorms

The location was a bit far from the CBD and hard to reach with public transport, so I had to walk quite far with a heavy backpack. Staff is only available at reception from 10am, which was inconvenient when the stoves in the kitchen weren't working one morning.
Staff was helpful and I could check in early.

Would not recommend for young female solo traveller. There are mostly guys ca. 25+ staying there.
Staff was really nice and attentive. Facilities were always kept clean. Seems more like a hostel where people stay long term(?)

The way to the city center is quite far. A little tip: you can take the free City Hopper ferry (it only takes 15 minutes to get there) and then you'll be in the city center very quickly. A little more storage space in the dormitories would be nice.
It was clean, cozy and the staff was very friendly.

The hand soap didn't foam properly. The lights and fan in the shared bathroom turned on automatically when opening the door. Very small dorm.

Doesn’t really have the social backpackers experience.
Facilities are well maintained, staff members are super and the shared rooms are really comfy.

Nothing to complain about the hostel!
I love the location very close of Mac Donald’s, bus stopped and station, markets and a beautiful park. The staff were amazing! Gleice and Joao I will miss you! The kitchen is very weak equipped! Very good!

Main Central Air conditioner of the building was at maximum fan all night and on direction of my bed and it wasn’t possible to change position. I left the next morning with throat discomfort.
Very kind and attentive staff. Everything was clean and in good conditions. And very modern.

The privacy of the beds was good, however the rooms were much smaller than Bunk. However the outside common area on each level made up for this.

Might have lease for long term residents so the room seems a bit more like a shared house, like living in other people's house ( don't take this wrong, I still got my own bed) that might be the reason that the room smells a bit, but with such excellent price what more would I ask for?
The price and the location, worth every penny!

Kitchen closes at 9PM which was a little early for us Smoking only outside in front or back of building, not on the balconies or rooftop
It was very clean and we loved the Netflix Areas on each floor! Was really useful as our roommate was working early and went to bed early so we didn’t disturb him. I can imagine that if it’s booked out it appears too small but for us it was good as there weren’t many people (Corona)

DON’T THINK U CAN GET A SPACE FOR YOUR CAR. They have only 5. And also, I paid for a 4 bed room and they put me in a 12 .

The bunk bed seemed a little shorter than standard, so not good if you are tall. Being on a top bunk, was frequently disturbed by the main room light, and when people used the bathroom at night. There was not really any comfortable space to use a computer without noise, so not recommended for working abroad.
Modern and tidy accomodation a little out of the main CBD at at good price. Close to a convenience store, which is handy for breakfast. Staff were professional and the hostel did not seem packed with people. Air conditioning in the room was nice.

Curfew lock for the kitchen, second floor balcony and limited parking.
The location. Not noisy & crowded as in the city but still near many amenities and establishments. All the staff were quite professional too.

They said there is car parking there for free and no needed to reserve, but the parking area was full. Fortunately there is free street parking near hostel.
Everything was really clean, and staff was so kind. There was no towel in the room but I got it very soon after I told to staff about it.
