How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The floors in the room weren’t very clean our feet were black from walking around it less then 30 minutes

Traffic noise, but we were aware of the location before booking. A fly screen on the window have been good.

The door opens straight to outside allowing mosquitoes & flies to enter. But the good thing was that they provided fly fleet. Check out was too early at 10am. Most hotels have their check out at noon.
The staff were amazing; they knew their stuff. The bed was comfy and clean

What a great spot on the river. Perfect to check out the art deco Bridgewater pub and laze by the river the next day.

Bit dusty in certain areas and a little bit of dirt in left in hand basin. Not a fan of the lights directly over your eyes as you lay in bed. Shower tiles a little weathered and I wouldn't use without thongs on.
Great location, aircon worked, WiFi, comfy bed, clean sheets, easy no contact check in. Overall satisfied in stay given affordable pricing and last minute booking.

Not a fan on the polished concrete floor. Chipped cup and the shower was loose in the wall and lacked pressure unlike other rooms

Location was excellent, we attended a wedding at the Bridgewater Hotel, and it was a short walk from our room to the venue. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

No staff, but check in was smooth. Garden view room but no garden just looking onto highway, outdoor furniture was dirty.

The Bridgewater Motel s lovely to stay at. It's central to everything yummy in town. From there award winning Bakery, dotted with cosy coffee spots to the Pub with big, thick, juicy, chicken schnitzels. After which we took a stroll along the river soaking up the sun, flora and fauna. Although it's past my daughter's in Laanacoorie. It's our go to home. We've stayed in all room types and all are exceptionally clean, beds are so comfy and kitchenettes are well stocked. The grounds are nicely manicured too. Helen and her team are so caring and amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. After our recent stay, the first time ever we've received a msg from any motel saying, my team thanks you for leaving our suite as we found it. This was greatly appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks Helen to you and your amazing team. Margot and Denis ❤️

No problem with accommodation but town facilities (on a Sunday evening) were sadly lacking. ie. nonexistent.
Provision of basic breakfast i unit was appreciated as being a Sunday, nothing else in the town was open beyond 5pm including the pub. Turns out pub only open a few days a week and for odd hours. Our basic breakfast become our Sunday evening snack. Renovation work post flooding was obvious but well done. As a midway stopover it was most satisfactory.

The check in was annoying but easy, the neighbour was very loud
Nicely refurbished after 2022 floods the room was nicely decorated and comfy. The shower was lovely and hot. Lots of lovely walking paths around

Had to spray a few mosquitos in the room with the can of insect spray. Stools at the desk felt a bit flimsy
24 hour check in was very convenient for me to have a place to rest late at night along my long route for a work trip. Wifi was good enough. Soap and shower dispensers was nice. Plenty of power points and good work area. Bedside usb ports were nice to have.

Nothing really apart from floors being cold because of concrete flooring, but it didn't bother us.
Very basic, but following the floods last year it met our expectations. Bed was very comfortable and met our needs. We used it as a base only. Liked the idea of cereal, milk and biscuits - nice touch. These items were replaced daily.
