Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaDesignated parking with room numbers would save alot of potential arguments. We never parked at our room as someone was always in the spot. More brochures in rooms as we were unaware of half of the facilities and features of the stay. Beds could be updated and up sized. Room could have microwave.

New ZealandBreakfast is simple but expensive. The carpet had a sharp object (maybe a small piece of glass) that injured my wife's toe. When we left, we recommended the reception desk better cleaning.
The hotel was close to a car renting company we had selected, but it is still some distance (30 minutes) from the international airport.

AustraliaMaps are needed for each room directing people to their rooms. It is very messy getting around the complex and because of this we need a computer generated map for each room with other landmarks helping with directions. It is particularly hard at night. A staff member walked in front of us to show us to our parking spot but that was after we returned to reception. More signs are needed, including which way for certain rooms. We were right down in a section which is now being built and were well out of bounds.

AustraliaBefore the stay, I contacted the hotel, informing them that my parents and sister, who aren't fluent in English, would be guests, and I requested patience. I received a response stating, 'We often host international guests, so we will be sure to look after them.' However, upon their arrival, there were communication difficulties during check-in. When my family requested WiFi to use Google Translate for easier communication, the staff refused to provide the information until check-in was completed. Additionally, they received no assistance in reaching their room, having to navigate the hotel on their own until they found it. Despite my prior message expressing concerns to the hotel, there seemed to be little consideration for my family's situation, leaving them unsure how to resolve the uncomfortable situation.

New ZealandThe stairs up to the room; carrying bags was a bit of a mission but I managed alright. Just a suggestion: the door that joins the two rooms, it’s hard to tell if the other side has access to your room, a simple bolt that you can slide your side would make people feel a lot safer. The person in the room next to me tried the door late at night and it woke me and freaked me out a little, I had nothing that made me feel safe to secure the door with, a bolt would have helped.
I only stayed one night but the pool was nice to swim in and they allowed me to check in early.

Comfortable, large room with the best shower ever. There wasn’t any soap, but on asking was told the reason. The lady who served breakfast in the dining room was lovely and the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Another lady knocked on our door to see if we needed anything and was also friendly.
