How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The owners, Michelle and Atem, really give out the family vibe that every traveler who needs some peace and quiet long for. The facilities are new, spacious and clean. The beds are comfy, and the owners now added curtains (which is a big plus). It's cheap too! I proprietari parlano entrambi italiano, se la cosa può esservi utile

If I'm being picky.... My bed had a wooden frame which creaked a little when I changed position. I can't think of anything else. I had a great stay.
Comfortable, clean and welcoming. My bed was very comfortable and I slept well. Quiet and easy to get parked outside. Handy for walking into town for shopping and several beaches. Most of the guests are working locally and long-stay. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Lockers are available for valuables. Fridge/pantry/kitchen arrangements are great. Whole place is clean and well-kept. No mozzie worries here! Cosy and Quiet for a Hostel, and exactly what I was hoping for. I will happily stay there again, if there's a space for me. Michelle is a great Host.

I wish I could see what nights are available on booking websites a bit easier.
It is great to see that a hostel is so well maintained and clean and also, that the prices are actually Hostel Prices. The way they have renovated and enhanced the building and surrounds is really lovely.

Where do I begin...at first I thought this was a truly amazing hostel. It is beautiful, clean and has a really homely feeling because it's so small. Unfortunately the management has made this a truly horrible place. From the consistent comments bringing me down about my personality such as comments from Atem calling me "lazy" and "stupid" to comments about my appearance from Michelle telling me that I should "eat more" and get some meat on my bones. I considered myself and outgoing and confident person before coming here but consistently being told I am too loud (every day) I found myself eventually isolating myself and stopping drinking and spending time in the main room for fear of being loud and upsetting the owners. As a solo traveller on the other side of the world I wouldn't want any other person to go through feeling like this. One time when I was passed out drunk (I know it's not great on my end) Atem one of the hostel owners started aggressively throwing ice cubes at my face to the point where other people from the hostel had to get in between and restrain him to protect me. Michelle on the other hand has completely fabricated things about me. She told me that "I heard that you were keeping everyone awake by having sex loudly with two different boys outside" she told me that that's what people in the hostel had been saying about me at work. This reduced me to tears and turned out to be completely false information and nobody had said that. I don't know what changed because I used to think she was lovely but the last few months of my staying here she consistently stormed in to the lounge rooms every day angry and complaining about the mess of the hostel and gossiping about various guests. If you are looking for a chill vibe this is not it. The hostel is covered in signs with very strict rules everywhere. Backpackers be warned, this is a toxic environment.
