Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOwner had electrician come twice over our 2 night stay which was fine we understand things happen however did hinder the relaxation in terms of on check in I was planning to arrive and have a bath but then couldn't had to wait and it felt a bit awkward as its such a small space to have an additional person. Then the second time it felt like we should leave the place whilst he was there. In a place like that you dont want to leave you want to relax there and you just don't relax as much when there are things going on. Especially as we only had 2 nights there you want to get there and switch off the entire time and make the most of it. I felt the owner could have offered some compensation for that like a late check out or early check in or something but nothing was offered. Bathroom has a bit of mould around windows and had hair on the tap when we arrived. Outdoor furniture is very worn from weather and not in great condition which made us sit out there less.
Stunning place and location. So peaceful. Amazing views watching sunrise and moonrise. So peaceful listening to birds and crickets. Fresh air and smells. Loved BBQ on the deck. Loved the fireplace! Loved all the windows and options of fresh air

AustraliaBeautiful house. Spotless clean. It has everything you might need. There is plenty of wood for the fireplace that will keep the house warm during cold weather. There are shops a short drive from the house. And lots of cute kangaroos on the road!

AustraliaWe had to leave.
Absolutely perfect ! Everything we needed was right there. Can't understand any of the other reviews that were negative we couldn't fault it . The views were off the charts . We brought everything with us so we didnt have to leave and why would we with a spot like that. We stayed in Redgum and the bath with the view was next level luxury. Easy check in & out. Even waiting for NRMA to jump start us was relaxing .

AustraliaThe interior needs a makeover, as the place is quite shabby and run down and not as clean as desired. Not enough to make one want to leave, as the pros still far outweigh the negatives.
An absolutely gorgeous setting with glorious wrap around coastal views among the trees. Well designed and airy cottages.

AustraliaTowels and bedding were a bit old and smelly. Communication was ok but could've been better - I got 1 message with instructions when I booked, and didn't get any further responses to my messages. Could have done with a warning about the road being narrow and difficult for cars with low road clearance.
Location, views of the ocean, natural light filling the cottage. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed. Check-in and out was easy. Hot water was great. Love that it had a bath, and nice toiletries.

AustraliaWe did find it to bright in the morning as their wasn’t higher blinds for the top window. We also wished the kitchen had a drying rack, a dish scrubber and more than one cloth for dishes. There was also no tissues. The grey blanket in the wardrobe was also dirty so we didn’t use them. Turning the car around was very challenging and scary. I loved that you gave bird watching books however being up so high it would have been amazing if there was a set of binoculars to see a bit better, especially when those beautiful whales came by :)
My highlight was having breakfast on the balcony as we watched in the distance whales go past. The quietness was needed and definitely bliss! The location was stunning and so close to a cute little coffee shop bakery. There was loads of places to sit and have dinner. Most places only give one option so that was great. We didn’t use it but the idea of having a dishwasher was great too! And the big fridge was wonderful as we did all our cooking while there. We loved the indigenous bus/ beach walk near by too that was stunning.

AustraliaNo curtain on toilet window and a hole in the wall, the walk up to the cottage we stayed (Eagles nest) in was quite long and steep so it wouldn't be suitable for limited Mobility. Cabin could do with a freshen up but we were satisfied with our stay. The lack of ability to block out the sun may be an issue in summer, it woke us each morning quite early.
Loved the location, great peaceful place. Like being in a treehouse, Pantry and cleaning was well supplied with essentials, firewood was provided. I also loved the fact we were cut off from WiFi with limited reception ( were able to call from Hill outside cabin). Great communication from Greg, we originally booked a different cabin but were moved for maintenance reasons, it was no problem for us and in fact may have preferred where we ended up. I would 100% book again.

AustraliaA few maintenance issues - hole in wall, door wouldn’t lock, but really, a beautiful place and comfortable. A bushfire drive us out early, but no one could be held accountable for that!

AustraliaNo aircon so Id be hesitant to stay in summer although there is a fan Perfect for a winter getaway though Theres a possum living behind the panty making a noise at night and a bit smelly when you open the pantry door. He was awfully cute to look at and interact with when he was out and about though.
