How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The cleaners had missed part of the second bathroom. There was long black hair in the shower and washing powder spilt beside the washing machine. Some shoves were dusty.
The location was very convenient for us. Plenty of lovely hot water

Kitchen vessels were not absolutely good..... very untidy plates and glasses took long time to clean up for our use but should say kitchen was very clean only the utilities inside the cupboard was mess.
Big and spacious unit with clean and tidy toilet and kitchen. Had a good time .

Beds uncomfortable with no top sheet. Noise but expected being on main road.
It served the purpose of the group to attend the City 2 Surf weekend. Convenience of getting to city on main thoroughfares. Bathrooms updated to good standard. Space overall.

Windows are needed to be cleaned and Curtains are needed to be replaced. Parking is not convenient especially if another car is parked.

Key pad entry didn’t work. No air con and fan in lounge didn’t work however manager replaced the next day. I used the room with 2 singles and the bed was not comfortable and sheets and towels were cheap and very poor quality. When we arrived the parking bay had been taken by another guest.

Parking☹️ broken driveway enterence. Basic toiletries should be there; like body wash and shampoo Hand shower was not working Not the best for hot days; no air-conditioning, Only 2 standing fans that don't even stand properly or work well.☹️ Definitely needs some sort of diffuser or anything to make house smell nice. The house smells specially when you enter

It could’ve been cleaner. The floor was very dusty especially under the bed. it would’ve been good to have another table lamp in the bedroom with two single beds.

We booked for 5 people. There was bedding and towels for 4 people. The apartment was freezing. It looks like it had recently been painted/updated but they missed little things like cleaning grotty power points, cleaning cookware properly. we couldn’t use the oven because it didn’t have any shelves. They were there but there were no side rails attached.

Avoid this place at all costs. It's an absolute nightmare. The filth is beyond disgusting, and there's not a single heater in sight so you're left to freeze. The TV and washing machine were faulty and the main shower leaks into the hallway. The owner was completely unresponsive and dismissive of our numerous calls for help. There is mould throughout the property and the paper-thin walls make sleeping a challenge. Disgraceful. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away.

Wifi doesn't work in this unit, no heaters in this unit it was freezing and there isn't a Ariel for the tv and doesn't work without internet so had to hotspot off my phone and spent $80 for data and went through it all hours before I checked out

No heating, no air conditioning, very basic cooking facilities, no cleaning items. Gas burner was not working when we arrived and had to message the host. The house was noisy with the road and other guests upstairs.

We had some problems during our stay. The first day the stove didn’t work, the second day there wasn’t hot water so we had to take a cold shower. We tried to call the owner several times but he didn’t answer and he didn’t resolve the problems. I won’t suggest this property.
